The Relationship Between the FDA and the Supplement Industry
In 1993, the New York Times reported that the Food and Drug Administration proposed regulations be set forth to guide or control the vitamin and supplement industry. At that time, the market for supplements accounted for about four billion dollars in revenue a year. The ongoing issue the FDA has with the supplement industry is twofold; one is the regulation of health claims made by supplement companies, and two is a regular, systematic review of supplements for the presence of unclaimed or illegal ingredients.

Disabled People and Abusive Caregivers
Here’s another situation you able-bodied folks do not think about when it comes to disabled people stuck in an abusive situation be it a partner or family. Some people with disabilities put up with their caretaker being abusive by stealing their things. It can be hard to find a trustworthy caretaker for starters. If a family is untrustworthy, it is only because they use somebody’s disability to control them, their finances, when they leave the house, and more. Families shame their disabled children sometimes, depending on the type of disability.

Is Medical Care Making Us Sick?
I am old enough to remember when doctors made house calls. When you got to talk to your doctor about your ailments until you were satisfied. When there was a doctor on call in case your doctor was busy. The image of the kindly, old doctor was on television, in magazines and even was immortalized by Norman Rockwell. Now, that has all changed.

Bullying Society
It seems that bullying has become normal. If you think it's something that only happens in schools — think again. I don't believe kids just become bullies for no reason — it's something they pick up from their environment, namely from adults. Children are just more vulnerable to the effects of it — hence we notice it more. But look around in the so-called "grown up world". The Media is constantly bullying celebrities, because well — scandals sell better. Advertising is bullying consumers by telling them what they should look like, smell like, think like. You don't have a six pack? You're fat. You don't wear designer clothes? Your style sucks. You don't fuck a lot of girls? You're a loser. The message is loud and clear — you are not good enough as you are, not until you spend some money on our products and become desirable to all.
