Stay Active, Stay Fit: 10 Ways To Increase Physical Activity Throughout The Day
And Stay Fit

Take the stairs instead of lift
Stair climbing is a good physical activity. Taking the stairs instead of the elevator gets your heart rate up, helps with body balance, and improves lower-body strength. If you are not tired and have some time, then use the stairs instead of the lift to reach the office. It is beneficial for both your body and heart.
Walk & Talk
If you work from home or hold meetings via virtual conference calls, schedule a daily walk during the call. If you don't need to sit in front of a laptop, put headphones in your ears, phone in hand, and join meetings on the go. In this way your work will not stop and you will also remain fit.
A research has shown that walking increases creativity and sharpens the mind. Keep on the go, not just for meetings and conferences, but also while talking to friends or relatives on the phone.
Walk fast
This method is very effective to stay fit. Try to walk briskly whenever you have to catch the bus to work, walk somewhere, or go shopping at the supermarket. This increases the heart rate and causes sweating, which burns calories. Apart from this, instead of taking the car to go somewhere, give trouble to your feet, this will make you walk a lot.
Sit on an exercise ball
Sitting in a chair for hours in the office can be exhausting. In this case, replace your chair with a stability ball. It reduces back pain and can help improve posture. You can also stretch your neck, back and spine by sitting on it. Apart from this, to strengthen your core, you can also do hula-hoop motion and pelvic exercises while sitting on the ball.
Park your car away
If you park your car very close to your office or home, now is the time to change this habit. If your home or office is in a safe and well-lit area, park your car a little further away from home or office. With this, you will have to walk from home or office to the car and you will be able to walk a few more times during the day.
Have more sex
Many people would be unaware that sex is a great exercise. This gives a workout to every part of our body. According to some older studies, having sex burns 3.1 calories per minute for women and 4.2 calories per minute for men.
Foster a pet
Pets help improve our lifestyle as well as improve our mood. So if you love animals, bring home one. You will be able to do more and more physical activity on the pretext of taking them for a walk or playing with them. If you can't do this, you can volunteer at a pet center and take the pets there for walks. These centers are always in need of such volunteers.
Have a dance party
Dancing is a great way to burn calories and build body balance. So move the furniture out of your room, put on some music, and get started. You can dance anytime, while cooking, folding clothes or using the vacuum cleaner. Apart from this, you can call your friends home and have a dance party with them or you can also do dance competition with your children.
Play a game
If you like playing games, play games like cards, carrom, or ludo or games that move your body like hide and seek, badminton, musical chairs or hula-hoop contests instead of online games. Such games can be played by people of any age as well as indoors or outdoors. In this you will get the same benefit as a workout.
Exercise during TV time
You might be finding it strange to work out while watching TV, but you can do it. Hit the treadmill, walk or do yoga or stretch while watching TV.
If you watch a show for half an hour and work out the whole time, you get 30 minutes of exercise. However, if you don't want to lose sight of your favorite show at all, you can still exercise during commercial breaks.
