Physical Symptoms after Masturbation - Tyla Writes

Patient:

I have been a porn addict for a while, and the last few months have been worse when i also masturbate. The problem is that sometimes when i do it, and i manage to ejaculate, i start getting dizzy and my head starts spinning violently, i feel like i lose balance. Another thing that happens is that when the dizziness stops, i am left with a bad feeling down my tongue, bitter, like i wanna vomit, like everything tastes bad. I observed that mostly when this happens is when i don't go to the toilet for long calls, before masturbating. Meaning this has always happened when i haven't gone to the toilet yet for long calls (to take out stool). What problem could this be?

Doctor:

It sounds like you're experiencing some concerning physical symptoms after masturbation, especially when you haven't had a bowel movement. While I can't provide a medical diagnosis yet until tests, the symptoms you describe – dizziness, loss of balance, and a bitter taste with nausea – raise an alarm.

Here's why these symptoms are concerning and some potential considerations, even before we do proper diagnosis and advice:

1. Possible Connections to Bowel Movements and Physical Strain:

  • Vagal Response (Vasovagal Syncope):

This is a common cause of dizziness and fainting. It happens when certain triggers (like straining, pain, or even strong emotions) cause your heart rate and blood pressure to drop suddenly. Having a full bowel and the act of straining during ejaculation could potentially trigger such a response in some individuals. The dizziness and loss of balance you describe are classic symptoms.

  • Blood Pressure Fluctuations:

Ejaculation and sexual activity can cause temporary changes in blood pressure. If you're dehydrated or have underlying blood pressure issues, these fluctuations could be more pronounced and lead to dizziness. A full bowel might also exert pressure that influences blood flow.

  • Dehydration/Electrolyte Imbalance:

If you're not adequately hydrated, particularly if you're also experiencing constipation or infrequent bowel movements, this could contribute to dizziness and a general feeling of unwellness. Electrolyte imbalances can also affect various bodily functions, including nerve and muscle function.

  • Autonomic Nervous System Response:

The autonomic nervous system controls involuntary bodily functions. Sometimes, strong stimuli (like orgasm combined with physical sensations from a full bowel) can lead to an overreaction of this system, causing symptoms like dizziness, nausea, and changes in taste.

2. The Bitter Taste and Nausea:

  • Digestive System Connection:

The bitter taste and feeling of wanting to vomit strongly suggest a connection to your digestive system.

This could be reflux, an upset stomach, or a more general systemic reaction.

  • Vagal Response Impact:

A strong vagal response can also cause gastrointestinal symptoms like nausea and an altered sense of taste.

3. Porn Addiction and Your Health:

You mentioned being a porn addict.

While the physical symptoms you describe are not directly caused by porn addiction itself, the stress and potential lifestyle factors associated with addiction (such as neglecting other health needs, irregular eating/sleeping patterns, or dehydration) could potentially exacerbate any underlying physical vulnerabilities.

What You Should Do:

See a Doctor Immediately: Given the intensity and regularity of your symptoms, especially the dizziness and loss of balance, it is essential to consult a doctor. They can:

  1. Take a detailed medical history.
  2. Perform a physical examination.
  3. Order relevant tests (e.g., blood tests to check for dehydration, electrolytes, or other issues; blood pressure monitoring).
  4. Rule out any serious underlying conditions.

Be Honest with Your Doctor:

Share all your symptoms and observations, including the connection to bowel movements and the fact that you've been a porn addict.

This information can be crucial for an accurate diagnosis.

Address the Porn Addiction:

While your immediate concern is the physical symptoms, addressing the porn addiction is also important for your overall well-being. This can be a separate conversation with a therapist or counselor once your physical health is assessed.

Please do not delay in seeking medical attention.

Your health is important, and these symptoms need professional evaluation.
