Diet and sleep are very common physiological phenomena in the human body. Urination is an important way to detoxify the body. The amount of water the body takes in every day will also be discharged from the body.

Because everyone's constitution and body needs for water is different, so the urination time is different, many people often sleep at night will be urine hold up, this time will feel very painful.

So who is healthier when it comes to nocturnal urination or non-nocturnal urination?

How many hours a day does a normal person sleep?

The average adult sleeps seven to eight hours a day. This includes the whole sleep cycle, with a focus on deep sleep cycles, preferably up to two hours, meaning that the whole body can be rested through sleep.

If you sleep eight hours or more, but you're a light sleeper, your body may not fully recover.

Different people have different sleep time requirements, and different age groups have different life time requirements. For example, newborns usually sleep 20-22 hours, children and teenagers usually sleep 12 hours, and adults sleep 7-8 hours.

Because of individual differences, some people sleep very short, four or five hours to ensure the quality of sleep, will not appear drowsiness, fatigue and other symptoms.

How many times does it count to urinate frequency to get up at night?

Normal people urinate 4-5 times during the day and 0-2 times at night, with more urination each time. Therefore, if nocturia occurs more than 2 times, each time the volume of urine is small, continuous for several days, it indicates the symptoms of frequent urination.

Also known as nocturia, can affect the quality of life, lead to poor sleep, but if the number of nocturia is more than 2 times, but each time the volume of urine, this situation is not frequent urination, may be too much water before going to bed, or eat diuretic food or drugs, is a normal phenomenon.

If the symptoms of frequent urination are serious, you can generally urinate every few minutes once. There are many reasons for frequent urination, such as urinary tract infection, bladder stones, bladder tumors, prostatic hyperplasia, prostatic hypertrophy, prostatitis and so on.

In this case, we should go to the hospital in time for relevant examinations, such as color ultrasound examination, cystoscopy, routine urine examination and so on, and then treat according to the cause.

"Nocturia" or "nocturia" people, which is healthy?

Listen to what the urologist says:

In fact, this is an interesting phenomenon, as we all know, people are immature because of childhood physical development. Sometimes night wetting the bed, is also a kind of nocturia. As I grew older and stronger, nocturia became less of a problem. I slept through the night.

In old age, nocturia begins to increase again. I was forced to leave my warm bed and get up several times during the night to pee. I felt very unhappy and restless.

In healthy adults, the frequency of nocturia is usually 0-2, meaning that some people may go through the night without nocturia until dawn, and some people will have nocturia once or twice, so they have to get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom. Is it healthier to get up at night or not?

Medically speaking, people who urinate more at night are not sure which is healthier than those who don't. Waking up at night can disrupt sleep and reduce sleep quality, while increasing the risk of emotional distress and falls.

However, nocturia also reflects the physical condition to some extent, which is conducive to preventing diseases. Therefore, people without nocturia at night generally have better sleep quality. If they have the choice to urinate, it is not good for their health.

Therefore, the health of the body can not simply depend on the number of waking up at night, because the night wake up depends on a person's physiological state, generally speaking, wake up less than twice is normal, will not affect sleep.

The following diseases can cause increased nocturia

diabetes

High levels of sugar in the urine can cause solute diuresis because of high blood sugar levels in the body. In addition, as blood sugar rises, the body increases the amount of water it drinks for metabolism and thinens the blood, resulting in polyuria.

Nocturia is a very common symptom of diabetes in the elderly. It is a complication of diabetes and may cause diabetic nephropathy. Therefore, we should be alert to increased nocturia in diabetic patients. Are there complications in the kidney?

Renal insufficiency

Urine caused by kidney disease is more common in the early stage of chronic renal failure. At this point, it presents as increased nocturia, which is a manifestation of concentrated renal tubular dysfunction. It is commonly seen in hypertensive renal injury, senile renal arteriosclerosis, azotemia caused by various chronic renal diseases, hypokalemic nephropathy and primary or secondary renal tubulointerstitial diseases.

Heart failure

Many middle-aged and elderly people with hypertension and myocardial infarction are at high risk of chronic failure. If they are at high risk, they should not be ignored if nocturia increases. Could be one of the symptoms of chronic heart failure. When nocturia increases, don't just think of it as a reproductive organ problem and ignore it.
