Mandy Moore embraces family time in a bikini during Mexico vacation

The actress shared rare beachside moments from her tropical getaway with her husband and three children

Mandy Moore is living her best beach life—and she’s bringing her fans along for the ride. The This Is Us actress gave followers a rare and heartwarming look into her family vacation in Punta Mita, Mexico, posting a carousel of sun-soaked photos that included a stunning black bikini shot.

Wearing a sleek two-piece by the brand Left on Friday, Moore looked effortlessly radiant while enjoying the sun and surf with husband Taylor Goldsmith and their three kids. The 41-year-old singer and actress is soaking up every moment with August “Gus” Harrison, 4, Oscar “Ozzie” Bennett, 3, and 10-month-old daughter Louise Everett.

Goldsmith, 39, frontman of folk-rock band Dawes, was right by her side as the family unwound at the luxurious Four Seasons Resort in Punta Mita. Moore’s swimsuit—a favorite label of Jessica Alba and Katherine Schwarzenegger—was a subtle nod to relaxed elegance. No over-the-top styling, no overproduced images—just a mother, a wife, and a woman enjoying the ocean breeze.

In her Instagram post from July 31, Moore captioned the photos with a mix of joy and gratitude

“Nothing beats a beach vacation with some of your besties (here’s looking at you @whatsgabycookin). What an epic few days, @fspuntamita! We can’t wait to come back (Gus hasn’t stopped talking about it)!!”

The photos? Pure warmth. Candid shots of the kids playing in the sand, a few intimate couple moments, and that radiant bikini photo that fans couldn't stop talking about. One follower said, “The most beautiful family!” Another chimed in with, “Love that black swimsuit.” And Chelsea Handler summed it up perfectly: “That’s one hot and sexy family!”

But this getaway came after a challenging time. Earlier this year, Moore and her family faced the very real threat of California wildfires. Their Los Angeles home was damaged, turning their daily life upside down.

Fellow This Is Us actress Chrissy Metz shared an update in July, telling Extra, “She’s doing well. A lot of the structure was able to be salvaged, which is great, but it’s so jarring. It’s so life-altering… she has children and pets. It’s just frightening.”

Now, back on the beach, Moore appears to be reclaiming peace—and her own narrative.

Beyond the vacation photos, Moore has also been using her platform to speak up about aging, motherhood, and how outdated labels are still thrown at women. In a recent episode of the Not Gonna Lie podcast, she opened up about the term “geriatric pregnancy”—a phrase commonly applied to women over 35 who are expecting.

“I feel like having my third child at 40, this term ‘geriatric pregnancy’ that’s thrown around... I think at least in my experience, so many of my friends are having kids later in life, whether it’s by choice or it’s by circumstance or biology,” Moore said.

She didn’t hold back on how the system can treat older moms differently. “I think the thing that I had the most trouble with is just this system in general kind of treating us as this anomaly… that we’re too old or too complicated or high risk. And really, it’s like, ‘Nope, we’re just human beings.’”

Between the idyllic vacation snaps and her refreshingly honest commentary, Moore continues to show that she’s not just a celebrity mom posting curated beach photos. She’s also a thoughtful voice on real issues—aging, resilience, and what it means to be present.

The sun, the ocean, the laughter—those moments matter. But so does everything she’s saying off-camera.
