What is the Ketogenic Lifestyle?
Starting any new lifestyle diet can sometimes be pretty scary. The one that I find scares people the most is the KETOGENIC LIFESTYLE DIET. You may have heard all of the rage about it and people trying and having huge success with it. BUT my opening one-liner seems to get people's attention, and not in an “I NEED TO TRY THIS” way. More like, “YOU’RE CRAZY AND THERE’S NO WAY THIS WILL POSSIBLY WORK" way.

Gym Etiquette
Ever feel like you have to dodge certain people while you're at the gym? Am I the only one who actually goes to the gym to workout these days? I can't tell you how many times I've gotten to the gym in beast mode, pre-workout mix in effect, with only one hour to spare before having to get back to the drudgery of my mundane life and just as I'm about to get on the treadmill someone taps me on the shoulder. Chatty Patty, the vegan waif I met in yoga flow a few weeks back...yep, the one who kept trying to talk to me throughout the entire duration of yoga class, completely oblivious to the fact that one — we're in a freaking YOGA CLASS, and two — not the best place to carry on a conversation. But who am I to say?

Not so Good in the Autism Hood
Autism is a very complex condition and has a vast spectrum with many variants. Among the many variants, you will find autism on the higher end of the spectrum such as Aspergers syndrome, high functioning autism and ADHD. These are very complex variants as the effected person ordinarily has a very high IQ, and some have an intolerance to additives, preservatives and many chemicals making it impossible for them to freely enjoy the treats many take for granted! As a general rule, those with autism lead a very different life to that experienced by many of us, that in itself can bring on a whole new level of stress so it's vital you have the right support when needed. I can only really touch on high functioning autism with any degree of accuracy as my son has this variant of autism. We have had the highs, the lows and everything in between! So I hope you find the following testimony helpful and hopefully it may act as an insight for relevant authorities such as the police, justice system and education system, as awareness is everything and without it you cannot ever hope to engage in protecting your young person! Now, where to begin?!

My First Steps to Making a Healthy Life. Top Story - November 2017.
I started with Young Living Essential Oils in September of 2017. I haven't worked with any other kind of essential oils before. Each of the oils that come within the kit smell fantastic and like what they are supposed to. Their Premium Starter Kit comes with eleven different essential oils. They give you five from their Vitality Line, which you can ingest, and they are Copaiba, Digize, Lemon, Peppermint, and Thieves. The other six are Frankincense, Lavender, Panaway, Purification, R.C. and Stress Away. Digize, Thieves, Panaway, Purification, R.C., and Stress Away are all blends that Young Living has made from other oils. Young Living is the only essential oil company that owns many of their own fields. Their mantra is "From Seed to Seal." Which means that they have the purist form of the essential oil starting from the seed going to the science and then ending with you at the seal.

I Joined A Monastery
For years I have been tempted by the swelling glow of Buddhism, and the eternal peace and hippy-lifestyle it seems to bring to those who follow it. And after my most recent existential crisis where I determined I was in fact a psychopathic narcissist, I decided that now was the right time.

Our Lungs
In this day and age, we are all a lot smarter than we were ten years ago. We know that cigarettes will eventually kill us. Now I expect that there will be people who read this and say that I do not understand because I do not smoke, but I used to. Now this will probably surprise people who know me, but I did. I smoked on and off in college. It was not an everyday thing, only when we would go out. I am from that era where you could smoke on an airplane, and so I did. I worked for many years as a flight attendant, and many of my friends smoked. I worked back when you could smoke on domestic flights. I mean, just imagine being trapped in an airplane with the last eight, nine, sometimes ten rows all smoking. As it is, you do not have good circulated air on an airplane, and then let us add smoking to it.

The List
As I grow nearer to my mid 30's I look back at my 20's and think of just how far I have come. I have overcome a lot in my 32 years on this planet. I have grown, I have failed, I have persisted. I have gone through things that the majority of people don't go through their whole lives. Pain and loss are the hardest things, but the come with a clarity unlike any other. A first-hand knowledge that turns into wisdom. The older me does not even recognize the person I once was in my younger years. There are a few lessons I have learned, and these are 20 things I wish I would have learned earlier in life. But in the end, the journey matters.

Eating Healthy: Losing Weight Isn't the Only Thing that Makes You Lighter
We all feel body image pressure, no matter your gender, size, age, or any other category. I have suffered from these issues since I was a child, when I started becoming really aware and self critical of my body. It started off as rejecting any food I saw as 'bad' and wearing clothes that draped my body, hiding as much of myself as possible, and developed into something much more serious. Eating disorders and much more swamped my teenage years. It's an all too familiar story.

Metabolic Typing
There are so many fad diets out there I can't even keep up. I've tried a few myself, some have worked (to an extent) and some not at all. Ultimately we have to find what works best for our own bodies. Metabolic typing helps you become aware of your of how your body processes certain nutrients based on multiple factors. What works best for me, may not necessarily work well for you. Being in tune with your inner self and your body will help you achieve homeostasis (when everything is in balance).
