Rock Painting: A Cure for the Soul
Graham Greene (1980): "I wonder how all those who do not write, compose or paint can manage to escape the madness" Mental Health is equally important to physical well-being. A positive attitude and a general feeling of accomplishment can be just as beneficial as a healthy diet and regular exercise. While there are many guides to a healthy lifestyle, in magazines, blogs and websites, there has been a debate as to what truly benefits the mind.

Eating Well on a Budget
Unless you're well off financially, you check prices of food at the grocery store and possibly buy store brands. I do this very thing. Buying good food at a good price can be hard, and getting a good meal at a reasonable price at a restaurant can be even more difficult. But there are some tips to keep in mind if you're new to food budgeting. I am going on 4 years. Unfortunately, I didn't have help, so I had to learn on my own. But now I can turn around and hopefully help someone else. At the end of this blog post, there are a couple links you can click and read the articles.

Change
Change. Change can be a very big thing for a lot of us growing up, even when you're "grown" what do you do? Where do you go? When and old skin no longer fits what can you wear? Well? I find that we grow even more. We may no longer be who we once were but that means we can create something even greater. To let go of things that no longer fit. I think change can be a very good thing.

Death Comes for Us All
Death. Dying. It affects us all in some way or another and will someday come for us as well. I guess I am an odd sort in that I have an interest in reading about the dying process, what may happen after we die, and how it seems some people may know that they are going to die even though they may be perfectly healthy. Talking about death still seems to be taboo with some people and rightfully so, because who wants to talk about dying. It is an issue though that we will all succumb to someday and it's a natural process of life. We live, we die, and it is this way for every living thing.

Feed the Soul
Making time for yourself can be hard sometimes when you live a busy lifestyle. It can take a toll on your self-esteem mind body and soul, you time is very important and helps to clear the negative and create positive energy. I have been making time for myself to walk among the pine forest close by my home, since walking alone threw the forest, I have made an inner connection and a feeling of peace and solitude. I walk barefoot and connect with the earth beneath me soaking in the positive energy it gives. Breathing in the fresh air supplied to me from the pines is such a calming effect on the mind, it's a feeling over understanding what I need to feed my soul to feel good within my own skin. I feel completely at ease with who I am and love how nature has such a strong impact on the soul.

Living with Chronic Pain
If you live with chronic pain of any kind, then you know how defeated it can make you feel. After you've been to the doctor a million times for the same thing and they tell you nothing is wrong, you don't even feel like talking to people about it anymore. You begin to think nothing will help you. Sometimes doctors don't believe you or they think you are over exaggerating. Sometimes your friends and family don't believe you either. You end up letting down the people you love. You constantly don't feel well and you can't explain why. It's hard to keep a job. People think you are lazy because you go out with your friends but you can't get up to go to work. The pain is unpredictable and exhausting. You're in a constant state of overdrive and it's hard not to be irritable. This pain you experience that is so much a part of your life is invisible to everyone else around you. Even if they tried to understand, they couldn't even begin to know what it was like to hurt from the moment you woke up until the moment you fall asleep.

Why I Don’t Hate My Fat Self
So let me start by saying that I am the girl, woman, and child in these photos. I am now a strong woman but at one time I was weak and childlike. I am 37 years old and I just decided to have gastric bypass surgery. I am writing this to be brutally honest about a choice of gastric bypass or sleeve surgery. So I have been heavy for as long as I can remember and I have been lying to myself for my whole life. In high school I was made fun of and picked on because in the 90s being fat wasn’t popular, it was one of the worst things in my mind anyone could do. It was hard because if you were a size 16 or over your choice of clothes were few and far between. So I always wore jeans that strangled my ankles and long T-shirts.
