Health Lessons to Heed to!

Yes, my mindfulness keeps me healthy

If you don't already know, I breathe, and dream of health topics. I wake up thinking about them. My brain is always finding patterns between good lifestyles and bad ones.

So, it's barely morning and already two interesting health-related things have happened. Let me share those and shed light on biological and chemical irritants.

Biological Irritant (Insect droppings)

I was taking a stroll in the garden and noticed black particles on the garden table. Most people who haven't paid attention would think it's just some dust or debris, and casually brush it off with their hands. But they shouldn't. Those are actually caterpillar droppings from the desert sunflowers.

Caterpillar droppings @SeemaOur garden is organic, which means moths lay eggs, caterpillars feed on the plants, and naturally, they defecate. Those black particles are not harmless. They're biological allergens. They contain acidic enzymes and immune-reactive proteins.

I've shared before how I was exposed to excessive cockroach allergens while living in an apartment. It made me very sick. My hormonal health crashed badly, and it took years of discipline to restore my well-being.

So, I took the opportunity to teach my little boy, who already has poor skin health due to eczema . I advised him not to touch those droppings. He understood. He is learning fast. I feel good knowing he won't suffer from biological allergens like I did, at least not knowingly.

Chemical Irritant (deodorants)

A few days ago, my spouse bought pickleball paddles and balls. With that pack, a pair of deodorants came along. He didn't even bring it inside the house. He kept it in the garage and told me, "We don't have to use this, so let it be here." I had already shared how in the past, a decade back, I had requested him to avoid such items for the sake of our health and we've stuck to that decision. I often write about the dangers of scented things.

Weeks ago, when some friends visited, we asked if they wanted the deodorant and they declined.

So today, I saw it in the garbage bin. My spouse had thrown it away. Though I am a hoarder, I didn't feel bad at all for these discarded things. I simply took out the bag, snapped photos for this article, and put it back in the trash. In doing so, we saved ourselves from a chemical irritant, read hormone disruptors.

See, the main ingredient is Aluminium sesquichlorohydrate. Does it sound like a material to be put on the skin?

Long-term use or high exposure of this chemical can be risky. Aluminum can accumulate in body tissues including breast tissues! Aluminum accumulation has been linked to Alzheimer’s disease too. Over all, this chemical causes hormone disruption, which no wise person would allow in the body.

My conscience rejects such strong things. Interestingly, I have hyperhidrosis, an excessive sweating condition. So, I may seem like someone who would seek antiperspirants, but no. I can deal with the sweat and perspiration using handkerchiefs, gloves, and socks. But I certainly cannot deal with an angry immune system and a disrupted hormonal system.

Teach your brain to reject such poisons too. While sweating and smell are a molehill issue, a sick body is a mountain! Treat your body respectfully.

Now, here's something important: allergens, inflammatory agents, immunogens, irritants, poisons, carcinogens, and neurotoxins are all synonyms. They can be biological, chemical, mechanical, or psychological types. Today I told you about two irritants: biological and chemical. Please stay mindful of these dangers.

If I'm enjoying good health today at 42, juggling multiple daily tasks, it's because I've been consistently mindful. And I want the same for you.

It's not worth ending up with uterus removal, multiple sclerosis, diabetes injections, or a thyroidectomy scar. Please take these warnings and advices seriously.

A researcher's job is to raise awareness and that's what I'm doing.

How about natural deodorant or antiperspirant? Are there any with no chemicals at all?

I haven't used deodorant since 1995. Plus, if you keep your underarms clean, there won't be any unpleasant odors

  • Thankyou for sharing, I'm always learning xx
