Unloved By Vocal Creators #2
A Critique Of My Work By Vocal Creators 😺😹

Introduction
The title is very tongue-in-cheek, but these are stories with over a hundred reads that have less than ten Vocal Hearts. Usually Vocal Hearts and reads roughly correspond, but these are stories where the discrepancy is very marked.
This is the first one I did that surprisingly got a Top Story and most of these still don't have ten hearts, so they haven't caught the eye of other Vocal Creators, or other Vocal Creators don't think they are worth a heart (and I read some that I don't leave a heart or comment on).
So here we go:
109 Reads and 5 Hearts
Jordan Reyne impressed me so much when I first saw her that I bought three of her CDs at the gig. She still amazes me and this is my interview with her, which is extremely in-depth. Virtually all my intervies are with people outside of Vocal so that may be why the paucity of hearts.
113 Reads and 8 Hearts
This is about two of the greatest songs about Liverpool by two Facebook friends of mine, obviously very Scousecentric so again maybe not something to interest most Vocal Creators, although in reality I am hoping that some Vocal Creators will drop in and drop a heart on some of these stories.
114 Reads and 4 Hearts
A gallery I always visit in Alnwick and the reads on this are creeping up so someone is enjoying it.
120 Reads and 7 Hearts
Some beautiful unusual artwork from my visits to Whitby.
121 Reads and 9 Hearts
This was a little sad, I had to turn off commenting because of attacks on Louise, so I have left it like that on both her interviews. This was the first.
140 Reads and 9 Hearts
This is obviously Vocalcentric and a piece I wrote after I tried to write stories on my phone during a weekend in Edinburgh. It can be done, but I now don't write on my weekends away.
150 Reads and 9 Hearts
An old poem of mine but as you can see not many hearts. Partially inspired by the haunting Alan Hull song and for a special person.
152 Reads and 2 Hearts
I have always loved Ivor Cutler but his humour is quite strange and maybe a very acquired taste. Someone likes this but it's not Vocal Creators.
157 Reads and 4 Hearts
Maybe Vocal Creators aren't Kate Bush fans despite her have a recent number one song when "Running Up That Hill" was featured in "Stranger Things". You also get to hear me sing "Wuthering Heights", maybe that put people off.
160 Reads and 6 Hearts
One of my earliest Vocal pieces, so the chances are that the writing is not very good, but I think it is more than OK and it has got the reads if not the hearts.
163 Reads and 7 Hearts
There are a few folk playlists that have got a lot of reads when I shared them in Facebook Folk Groups so the hearts/reads discrepancy is understandable on these.
172 Reads and 3 Hearts
Another Folk playlist, my most read story is one of these.
212 Reads and 9 Hearts
One that caused a lot of ire in the Facebook Folk Groups because I dared suggest that some modern songs could be folk songs, but I got the reads.
238 Reads and 7 Hearts
I haven't a clue where these reads came from, but I am fine with getting a lot of reads, even if I don't get the hearts. This was about observations from my childhood.
280 Reads and 5 Hearts
This was one of those that was getting traction on my blog, so I decided to share it on Vocal. Again I haven't a clue where the reads came from.
310 Reads and 5 Hearts
This is one featuring the cover art by Neon Park which is creeping up my read charts. It started a few months back and is probably going to get a bit higher up there.
696 Reads and 5 Hearts
Again this is just another creeper with a lot of reads but only five hearts.
1,320 Reads and 7 Hearts
Gail Collins Pappalardi's work has always amazed me, and this another that crept up to become my second most read Vocal story, and it may one day be my most-read one.
1,486 Reads and 9 Hearts
This is my most-read Vocal story and they have mostly come from the Folk Groups that I shared it with, though a few people took offence at this story because my choices were not pure enough, but again, the reads came in.
Conclusion
Thank you for reading and I hope you found at least one of my stories to give a heart to so that they won't appear if I do a third instalment in this series.

Nice summary of your work. You should be proud if your 10,000 reads! ❤️
I'm struggling with even having my stuff read lol. I restarted back on vocal after being gone for 2 years basically. And it seems like they have changed a lot of the site. So I'm just getting used to all the changes now.
Proud to be the 10th ❤️ Also, my 2nd most read piece got the traction it did because the creator whose show I wrote the article about posted the link to his Twitter (which I saw later). So high reads but low Vocal engagement isn't inherently a negative. It can mean the post is gaining traction outside of the Vocalites, which you yourself have observed before
Reads still mean that people are interested in your work!! Otherwise you wouldn't have so many of them! It's still impressive what you've created here, and don't forget that not ever reader has a Vocal account.
I'm still sad that you had to leave that folk group. You got a lot of reads from there
I understand more hearts and Les’s read’s People just pressing the heat button and never reading But to have more reads then hearts … Weird
Same here I try vocal seem to pass me by. I feel like I am held back for some reason. I really do try to get likes and followers
I get a ton of reads but no hearts. I assume it's because non-Vocal people read most of my posts but now I am rethinking this. LOL.
