The Vocal Social Society Is My Facebook Home
I Love The Vocal Social Society

On Finding The Vocal Social Society
I am not going to name anyone in this although lots of people have shown me love and encouragement, and I will just place them under the umbrella of the Vocal Social Society which you can visit here and their associated magazine The Vocal Creators Chronicle is here on Facebook and this is their Vocal Profile.
I decided to use Going Home-Wild Theme- from "Local Hero " as it is so beautiful, from one of the greatest films ever (that also influenced my Sandman and Sea Girl stories). I hope you can see and hear it, and if not search on Youtube there will be a copy somewhere.
I joined Vocal to win money from challenges, but that never happened. Having said that in my thirteen months or so on Vocal I have paid them $120 and received a lot more in return, a lot more from the writing on my sixteen-year-old blog Seven Days In.
Nothing much happened at first. I got a few reads, but friends seldom read what I write, then I did a search for Vocal on Facebook and must have got a few groups with members.
I signed up for a few of these (I think there are about seventy but the ones I subscribe to are in the post below), then shared a few stories and started getting, likes, comments and reads.
Then someone tipped me for two stories. That was probably the most important milestone in my time on Vocal. Everybody will know who did that (it is in my previous writing) and that member of the Vocal Social Society will have my gratitude forever.
I donβt know if The Vocal Social Society was my first Facebook Group but it really has become my Facebook Vocal Home.
Why Vocal Social Society?
The Vocal Social Society was set up differently from other Facebook Vocal groups. The main difference is that posts are threaded under a theme, initially gathering Community-based posts under a single thread, and this has metamorphosed into Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed and Something Blue, plus Weekend Poetry and Friday Fiction.
There are exceptions for important posts which are given solo spots because they need to be prominent so they can be seen by as many members as possible.
Another thing is that the Vocal Social Society is open to everyone, Creators and Readers. Many members are not actually Vocal Creators but drop in to read and enjoy the shared creations and stories.
One of the problems with Vocal is that their Top Stories sometimes seem skewed towards favourites who therefore got the exposure, so the Vocal Social Society introduced a Weekly Fab 5 to promote great stories (and not always VSS Members) but it made people feel appreciated and got them noticed by a generally empathic audience.
What Makes Vocal Social Society Home For Me?
I have it on my favourites list and when I come on to Facebook it is my first port of call to see what is happening and who is posting on the various threads and whether there are any special announcements there.
The Administrators do an amazing job of keeping the group interesting and dynamic and this is appreciated by the members. It is a place I always recommend new users to join.
It is a safe, encouraging environment full of love and wonderful stories. It really does feel like home to me.
It has a beautiful familiarity and if you need help or encouragement there is always someone there for you.
I have seen new Creators join on my recommendation then go on to thrive and get Vocal Top Stories and become recognised as the wonderful writers that they are.
In Conclusion
It would really break my heart to leave here, I love the people, love chatting, love the help and encouragement that I get here and reading this you will see me for the big softy that I really am.
The Vocal Social Society is the place to be for Me
