He was much too young! I was thinking As Peter my ex-boyfriend was telling me about our mutual friend Thom. He had a massive heart attack the last he had heard; he was just getting around to feeling normal. Thom and I were good friends before Peter, and I had broken up and I moved out of the house we all shared.

Almost two and half years have passed when unexpectedly peter was at my front door. At first, I was apprehensive to even invite him in. But I did and we sat and talked a few hours. We talked about the past good times, then he mentioned Thom and his heart issues.

I was sad Thom and I had gone our separate ways and never spoke again. While peter spoke, I drifted back into time and the memories I had of Thom showing up at Christmas unexpectedly just two years past. When I snapped back into the moment peter was saying he was going to give Thom a call for a ride home! then goes on telling me how to act, that reminded me why I broke up with him, I said yes call him. Thom came over and we started talking, it was so great to see my old friend.

I didn't notice Peter was acting a bit strange until looking over at him and him giving me a look like I told you not to ask. But I blew it off and kept talking to Thom. A few days had passed when I decided to text Thom. I said Hey Thom if you're not busy tonight stop over so we can chat! He responds well I would but, after my Surgery they forgot to put my heartbeat back to normal, and I’m in the hospital as we speak. Oh, wow I replied, I’m sorry for bothering you! He said I will when I’m out of here though.! I said cool beans can't wait.

A few days later he stopped over, he told me about his issue, it's only been three weeks at this point, then he tells me about an 80-year-old lady he's known thirty plus years, he's been doing her yard work for a few years now and found out she also had a heart attack.

Well then Thom Go's to see her son who informs him he was going to sale his moms house and put her in a nursing home, well Thom steps up and speaks his mind and says, well if no one's goanna step up to help her then I guess I am, because there's no place going to let her have all three dogs, take her house not to mention her 3 dogs, she will die in a month or two. Take everything she lives for, and you will take her life,

Thom is my HERO and Miss Daisys, he Goes fifteen miles one way to take care of Miss Daisy, we call her that because Thom drives her anyplace, she needs to go, plus does her laundry, cleans her house and in the mornings, Hes there, makes her coffee so she will have it when she gets up. He saved her life, she's thriving now.

And on top of that, when he's done with her, he comes to my house, you see, I have a bad heart, but mine is more permanent as I have a heart that's turning to bone. So, I’m living on borrowed time, Thom, he's the best friend I've ever had, and he also will take care of things after I go to see God.

So, I wanted to tell his story and of his heart of gold before I go, because he is the most riches man i know, not because of money but because his heart is made of golden love and friendship, he is modest and just does his thing, as he would say it.

So, to my Hero, you have enriched my life more then you know, and I love you so very much and always will always and forever, don't be surprised after I see God, and if you happen to see a butterfly outside your window! That will be me saying hello! Love you, Theresa.
