The Black Owl
Who always watching over me

I’m getting sleepy Abuela. Abuela says, “Okay baby, goodnight.” And she gives me hugs and kisses. As I lay down peacefully my mind goes through so many thoughts and enters into dreamland. A black owl with glowing golden eyes will appear and always stare at me while I am sleeping. Conscientiously, I know I am sleeping, but I can’t seem to wake up. This is my third time having this dream about a black owl with glowing golden eyes. In my dream, I remember when I was in an outside 12 foot pool with a safeguard sitting in his high chair. The outside air was chilly and windy. I had stood up in the water and stared up at the darkness of the sky because I knew I could not swim. I had seen two guys running toward the pool to dive in. As they were running, the full moon was glowing brighter and brighter and the sky was getting darker and darker. When the two guys had dived in somehow I was on top of a thick rope that was connected to poles. When I looked up at a tall, bushy oak tree, I had seen the black owl with glowing golden eyes staring me. I was shocked in tears and woke up out my dream with heavy breathing thinking out loud, “What is it with this owl?”
The morning I woke up to bright sun rays cutting through my light blue curtains with sun rays shining in my face with a swift of polenta aroma coming from the kitchen. I remember going to my abuela’s bathroom to utilize her toilet fearfully because of spiders or small sneaky mices. As soon as I sat down on her toilet seat, I will take a peak down to look below the toilet and I had seen a spider web. The spider web had a small spider attached to it. My whole body had intensed fearfully. I had yelled abuela, but I didn’t think she heard me all the way in the kitchen. So, I just stay quiet and didn’t move. All of a sudden, I had fell into a deep thought like a vision I had twice before.
I had seen a dark, tall, black man looking over at me from a closet full of darkness. The only thing I could see was the man’s dark face just staring at me. Soon as the vision left, I had awakening and clean myself to get up from the toilet. Abuela had walked into her room with plates full of polenta and eggs with toasted white bread. She hands me over my plate of food and told me she think she heard me calling her name once. I replied, “Yes, but I figured you didn’t hear me because you was all the way in the kitchen.” She said, “What is it you wanted to tell me, baby?” So, I had dropped my head down and looked at my food going back and forth with myself debating should I tell her or not. While debating, I dazed into the glass of orange juice setting in front of the old brown radio clock with the red digital numbers glowing through the glass. Her warm fingers tapped my shoulders and I came out of my dazed.
My abuela was a person anyone could talk to because she was a wise woman and will always listen and give you advice. Fortunately, I had told her I had many dreams about a black owl with glowing golden eyes staring at me. Also, I had visions about a tall, dark, black man who stared at me from a closet while I was sitting in your toilet. I told her I keep having these visions and dreams and I don’t understand. Abuela replied, “Baby, we know one day you will find love and will need protection, but you have to have patience because it easy to give yourself to anybody. If you have patience with life, God will send you a man who truly loves you and will protect you.”
Keep paying closely attention to the dreams and visions you have because there are hidden messages.
