Not Now I'm Writing
Not Now, I'm Writing by Cleve Taylor During the early months of the pandemic we hardly ever left the house. With two highly vulnerable people in the house, person to person contact was kept at a minimum. Food and household supplies were ordered online and left at our doorstep. A daughter found a fleeting supply of masks and sent some to us. My wife retreated into BritBox streaming video, and I continued my lifetime activity of reading, though more and more of my books were digital. Although the library brick and mortars were shuttered, it seemed like they double downed on digital offerings.

3 Things I Felt After Finishing My First Book Outline
Yesterday I finished my first ever book outline just in time to partake in NaNoWriMo 2021 for the first time. This is a book that originally made me want to become a writer and I’ve been sitting on it for about two or three years but I never sat down and made a proper outline.

A Vocal Creator's Spotlight, Celebrating Black Writers.
I have been a writer all my life; writing has been my best form of expression and is my outlet for release. I feel good after writing and the thought of sharing my stories with others has always been a lingering idea. The first ad I ever saw about Vocal was for the Little Black Book challenge. I read the ad, kept scrolling, but the seed had been planted. Is there really a platform out there for writers to publish on and potentially make money on? Yes. Yes there is. The next week my mind entertained Vocal and so did my Facebook feed. The ad never left and I gave into the peer pressure. I googled Vocal. I was amazed by what I found and this was because I had no idea about such writing platforms prior to this ad. Not only was there a platform providing me with writing prompts and challenges to strengthen my skills, but also a very supportive community of readers and authors that have the potential to become friends. I joined Vocal and it has been one of the best decisions of my life. You can always check out my profile and stories here as this article is not about me. This article is my version of a Vocal Spotlight. This article is to celebrate the black writers that I have encountered here on Vocal.

Celebrating 1K Medium Followers But I’m Not Optimistic
My Medium account has finally reached the first 1K followers, but I’m scared the followers will grow. Every creator strives for their audience to grow, this has been one of the best things that creators anywhere can have achieved. Because that way, that creator will have more chances to grow their work around the world. But I don’t feel comfortable now that I have finally reached the most coveted number of followers among Medium creators.
