Customer Service Revisited
“May I help you?", came the friendly, easily intelligible voice over the phone. “Uh, um, yeah, I guess”, was my hesitant response, so surprised and unaccustomed was I to talking to a live customer service agent. Still unsure that this was not a highly sophisticated “bot”, I carefully explained that I had purchased a 16-bottle spice rack from their company, Kamenstein Spice Company, 6 months ago, that I was running out of my favorite spice, and I would like to order more. The nice lady explained that their company had set up a website, where I would need to go to register, then order whatever I wanted. “BUT”, she said, “Since we’re on the phone, I will do the registration for you and take your order.” “You will?”, I asked, incredulous that I was talking to a live human being who was being helpful, conversational, not reading from a prepared script, and speaking perfect English that I could understand. For the next 15 minutes, we chatted about the spices and cooking, while she registered me, took my order, and explained that replacement spices were FREE, with just a $4.95 shipping charge for the WHOLE order, not each individual bottle.

My Manager Didn’t Respect My Time Because I’m Childfree
“You don’t have children, so staying late shouldn’t be a problem for you.” I stared at the phone in disbelief. When my coworker hadn’t shown up for her shift, I expected my manager to at least ask if I’d be willing to stay late or come up with a solution. Instead, the all-female office crew began packing up and heading out as if there wasn’t an issue, which is why I’d called my manager in the first place. To be fair, some of them may not have known since I worked downstairs in reception, and they worked upstairs.

The Shades Of A Spiritual Journey
I've never met anyone on an active and conscious spiritual journey who had or is having a peaches and cream experience, it's always a combination of short and long hardships, easy and difficult experiences, forward and backward movements and then the kicker, a range of emotions. All of them, not just the unicorn ones. It can get really dark at times and especially living in the times we do, where you don't have the clear set path and guidance our ancestors did, it can get even more difficult and lonely navigating that. I've found myself feeling more at the edge of love and hate, happiness and sadness, positive and negative, light and dark more times than I care to count, sometimes varying within a space of seconds. It's a worrysome, haunting and exhaustive experience.
