Introduction

Sri Lanka is an island located in the Indian Ocean, belong to the Asian Continent recognize as the South Asian country below the country India. Sri Lanka is a country which has full of natural resources such as beaches, mountains, rich history, diverse culture and natural beauty. Even the World 8th wonder is also in Sri Lanka the "Sigiriya Rock".

History

As mentioned in earlier Sri Lanka as a rich history, according to the records in the past they were tribes living in Sri Lanka named as The Raksha, Yaksha, Naga and Nittaewo. Before naming as Sri Lanka to this country they were few other names which was told. When talking about religions, every religion such as Buddhism, Catholics, Hindu and Muslims lives in Sri Lanka, but the majority are Buddhist. In ancient history records in 543 BC a prince named "Vijaya" arrived at Sri Lanka in his ship from India and named this country as "Tamba panni". After he put his first few steps and walked around, he saw woman and fell in love with her. She was a Naga Tribe name "Kuveni". Starting from Prince Vijaya they were generation of kings ruled this country and last king who ruled the country when the British emperor was there is King "Sri Vikrama Rajasinha", which they bulit palaces, and many other historical things. In the early 1505 Portuguese came to Sri Lanka and occupied the coastal areas. In 1658 Dutch arrived expelled the Portuguese, which the Dutch named this country as Ceylon. After several years the Bristish came to Sri Lanka 1796 and ruled the country until 1948. The country got the Independence in 1948 by the name as Ceylon and then in 1972 the country was named as "Sri Lanka."

The Capital of Sri Lanka is Sri Jayewardenepura Kotte in Colombo District.

Sri Lanka has 9 Provencio's and with 25 districts. The population as per records in 2023 are around 22million peoples. Sri Lanka is a country Which is full natural resources and natural beauty. The Worlds Wonder 8th named as "Rock Sigiriya" is also in Sri Lanka. Rock Sigiriya is about Palace which is built in a top of a mountain by the "King Kashapa" in 5th Century. This is 1147 feet above the sea level, which people still can't believe what kind of technology they used to Buit this palace in a top of a mountain.

There are also Rainforest in Sri Lanka named "Sinharaja", which they more than 16 rare species of animals counting from snakes, birds, butterflies and etc.
