My Spring-Summer Collection!
- A lovely slice of time.

This one almost dates to a year ago. One of the best ways to describe time - is in seasons.
A year back, we shifted to a new apartment. Although it is a construction that was built 20 years ago, my Dad and I have managed to redo the apartment to our liking. Some times, you fall in love with a place just by basking in its vibe. My new home's location is just that. Having stayed in the same town for over 2 decades, I used to admire this place. Staying at this location is just like living one of the unsaid wishes that reside in my heart.
I often feel, we don't celebrate the Spring and Summer of India as much as they deserve to be celebrated. This place has brought about a lot of happiness through its Summer blooms. The Gulmohar tree across my home would be the one that I shall cherish in the coming years - During the summer, a vibrant orange bloom covers the tree, its dried flowers spread out on the silver rooftop of a car that stands beneath it. It looks beautiful against the backdrop of the off white buildings.
Last Summer, on a sunny morning, when Dad and I were having a bike ride across the lanes of this place, I managed to capture this gleeful time onto my phone. On one of the lanes, the sun played hide and seek through the canopy of trees. As someone who was back in India after a significant amount of stay in another country, I had missed this joy of bathing in the sunshine across different seasons of India. The value of tropical sunshine is best understood when you stay at a place which offers it as a gift measured in time. :)
. As we moved along the lanes, we came across a tree with pink flowers. They resembled the cherry blossoms that I have always loved. I recalled the 'Yet to travel' list scribbled in my diary. It has the Japanese Cherry blossoms in it. I hope to see them some day.
At present, it is the Spring season, a Bougainvillea in the garden across my apartment paints quite a view with its Fuschia Pink flowers. The creeper has climbed over the gates of the garden. This Spring-Summer Collection is something that I shall always look forward to.
The mornings at this new place remain beautiful throughout the year. A slight breeze flows in as the day nears the noon time. It is a delight to watch the birds that visit our balcony. A flock of sparrows come around the noon. Sometimes, I end up seeing a Sunbird. A 30 year old Adenium plant that has been nurtured by my parents still continues to greet the sun. My Dad loves the little intricacies of nature. He keeps sharing his knowledge about different kinds of trees that are present in the neighborhood. As time passes by, I look forward to add some new plants to our balcony. Seasons in their own way guide us to live various experiences in our life. Spring marks the onset of new beginnings, Summer represents happiness, it distributes joy. We all try to thrive in our own ways; the seasons just throw in some sun and shade to make it better.
As I await for the Gulmohar and the Pink blossoms to bloom in the Summer, I just hope to enjoy this floral beauty each year. And that my life shall always have some sunshine in store that could be used when I feel low. :)
