English Composition II
Spring 2025 w/ Prof. Fleming
Hi, My name is Luidji and I've created my voice profile in accordance with my 1st assignment in my English Composition II course. I find this interesting as technology and online communication platforms are advancing how schoolwork is done. I call in advancement because the speed at which we can convey a message or completion of an assignment is very efficient. However, there is still a great need for direct communication in order to workout the wrinkles in the process, as both students and professors face the same adjustment obstacles in getting familiar with these new platforms.
This Semester is my second semester at ECSU and I've earned a 3.8 GPA. I'm a big talker, so I expect to enjoy all of this silent and structured talking I will be doing on pages for Prof. Fleming's English composition course. Composing the English language into its proper form, whether you are writing in slang or not, there are rules to indicate your tone and/or drawl. ensuring that a reader of the English language understands and perceives what they are reading is key to being a good writer. I truly believe my writing skills will take a step up from taking and passing this course. I did not know there was a 600-word minimum for posts here, I will proceed.
Since I am also a poet, I do not mind allowing my mind to wonder about things I will discover over this semester as I complete this English Composition course. I do wish to get better at writing grant proposals. I hope Professor Fleming has a poetry portion in his course curriculum, then I can actually do some poetry and stop simply calling myself a poet because I flow with these words so easily.
All the writing I have coming this semester between this class and my art appreciation course is really amazing now that I think about it. I'm someone who has had the writers bug my whole life and typically procrastinated on projects that I've conjured up. A book on my experiences and direct perception of those experiences is sure to be interesting as people seem intrigued by my truths that I spew aloud, at least I think they're intrigued, or they could just be nosey.
Now with the rise of online communication, acronyms such as "lol" have become "a thing" which makes me a bit uncertain if my professor will accept acronyms such as "lol". I wanted to end my last paragraph with a "lol" but felt it could be inappropriate since this is an English Composition course and "LOL" isn't exactly English. I've seen the term used by French and Spanish-speaking people on blogs, internet chat rooms, and profile descriptions so that leaves me with this uncertain feeling I get about using "lol" while writing in my English composition course assignments.
This is my 1st "Vocal.media" profile and just the criteria for posting a story has me very intrigued as this sort of proves to be a space for the educated sort. Most times, when I post a long written excerpt on my other social media, many of my friends and followers will complain that it is too long to read, "lol". Yet, here on "vocal.media", it is mandatory for approval and that inspires me to return and use this platform when I have my big brainy and wordy ideas.
This is for an assignment, an introductory assignment at that, I was not prepared for a 600-word minimum. I'm smiling now as I try my best to continue, while also knowing I will surpass the 600-word minimum.
Here... we are stumbling across the mark with nothing to really say except for... stay posted I'm bound to write something beautiful and thought-provoking on here at some point.
