Business is Business
My Personal Vocal Business Model

Entrepreneurs, Masters of SEO and Successful Writers
I see so many memes, posts and stuff by people who claim to be motivational entrepreneurs (hate that word when it isn’t used in a conversation in French) , but this is about what motivates me to write and how I make it pay me at least a little more coffee money.
Although I seem to see less these days I see people claiming to make fortunes off Vocal and Medium without providing verifiable proof, though people then congratulate them on their success. If anyone wants proof of where I am at I will be happy to provide it.
Back To My Vocal Beginnings
I have said this many times in my writings that I was lured into Vocal by the prize money in the challenges, but soon realising that my standard of actual writing would be unlikely to be considered for a challenge for a number of reasons. In fact my first couple of months nothing much happened until I discovered the Vocal Facebook groups (see the list at the end of this article).
Then I shared my stories, engaged with people, and my audience grew and possibly the most important single thing that kicked off my writing properly were two dollar tips from Les (she is probably sick of me mentioning this) , but I didn't really know her at the time and to me it was a ringing endorsement of the validity of my work. That really does give you confidence in yourself to write more and share more.
My Vocal Business Model
I have been surprised that some Vocal Creator friends who I regard in high esteem (I still don’t regard myself as a good writer but everyone else in the world does so I am happy to go along with that opinion) have very low read counts overall.
I have seen people with high read counts asking for more to hit targets, but in my opinion, once you have hit five thousand reads then you have made it. You either get reads by having a huge partisan audience so a thousand reads per story is normal, or you actually produce work on a daily basis that people can then read, almost like a magazine or newspaper.
My Vocal business model is the latter, and since my hospital stay reads have dropped because I have produced no new output, although I am now writing again so my reads will revive soon I expect. The past month has been low for me at 24 reads a day, but I know some of my friends would dream of that.
The actuality is 40 reads a day over a month will pay for your Vocal Plus membership.
Another business model is the book, but while self-publishing is an option I don’t have the drive to promote a book although I do have three in planning at the moment, but Vocal provides me with what I actually need at the moment, and this is just one example of that.
In Conclusion
I actually write because I enjoy writing, any benefits I get from it are icing and cherries on the cake. If you want any advice I am happy to give that and lend my support in any capacity I can.
I titled this Business is Business so I could include the Godley and Creme song from the album "L".
