You've Been Sent Here For a Reason

There are so many reasons could have been sent to this exact place.

You've been sent here for a reason. Let's explore what reason that is for you.

Section 1 - You've stumbled upon this on your own and you have decided to read this for enjoyment. Maybe you are saving this to send someone else here later. Congrats. You're in a good place.

Section 2A - You are an annoying spammer, maybe you commented on someone's piece and didn't truly read their piece, but just left a comment and then asked them to go read your stuff. You were hoping leaving a vague comment would trick everyone, no one would be the wiser that you didn't bother to read the piece, and then you could get people to read your crap. You're just trying to get "reads" and "likes" in an inauthentic way. Try working on your craft. That'll get you reads. Make good crap, shit happens for ya.

Section 2B - You are an annoying spammer, offering someone a job that will "pay so much!" but come on, no one believes it.

I have a job for you. Want to earn more than $2,000 a week? Here's all you have to do. Read this entire piece. Top to bottom. Once you've reached the bottom, scroll back up, read this again. Then, go out and get a job that pays you more than $2,000 a week. It's that simple!

Section 2C - You are an annoying spammer, trying to get more "reads" but unlike those who have been referred to Section 2A, you didn't even try to feign the idea of having read someone's piece. You didn't comment 8 minutes after the 28-minute-read was posted saying "Wonderful story! Please read mine!" hoping that you appeared to have really read it. No, you more boldly just commented with a "read my stuff" comment. You don't care if anyone knows you didn't read anything.

And hey, not every successful author reads a ton of other work. They may be so busy, they are unable to read a lot of other work. That's OK. It's not like you HAVE TO read someone's work in order to have people read your work. But people do that. It's nice. And you are hoping you can capitalize on that act, you are hoping you can just leave a link to your work on someone else's work and grab some "reads" from it.

Of course, you want people to read your work. But let me ask you this, are you spending too much time commenting and trying to "trick" others into reading your work? Wouldn't your time be better served just working on your craft? Might I refer you to the last sentence of Section 2A which states, in perpetuity, "Make good crap, shit happens for ya."

Section 3 - You plagiarized work. A despicable thing. Someone worked hard on something, poured their soul into it, they searched the annals of their mind for creative ideas, they gave birth to them, they molded them, they shaped them, they put pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard) and they did something you know nothing about. They CREATED. And you copied what they did and tried to pass it off as your own.

You are not a creator. You are not a writer. You are Control+C-er and a Control+V-er. And that is not a compliment. You've contributed nothing. You should try to though. It's an amazing feeling. Far, far better than the empty feeling in the pit of your chest that you are confused about. You better hope writers don't control the afterlife, or else you may find that they'll make room for you in the 9th circle.

Section 4 - You "created" something with AI entirely and did not attribute your "creation" to AI. You are trying to pass off work that is not yours as your own. You are pretending that you sat down and typed this all up when you typed a few words into a program and let it create something for you. That's not writing. That's prompting. Good job prompting, I guess. We'll see if the Oscars ever make a category for you called "Best Original Prompt." Maybe some day there will be a "Nobel Prize in Promptiture."

Section 5 - The catch-all section for the rest of the sins. You pissed someone off for some other reason.

THE SOLUTION FOR SECTIONS 2A, 2B, 2C, 3, 4, AND 5

Stop it!

You were sent here because you need to stop it.
