These kain lyrics! 😂

Well, Fireboy DML is talking more about the song now and in a new sit-down with Apple Music, he opened up about what inspired the song, what the song is about, and who the song is about. Here is what Fireboy DML said.

Speaking about the song "Ashawo" with Apple Music, Fireboy DML said about it:

Basically, it’s not an excuse for men to cheat, but it’s also the realistic point of view explaining why men in Lagos or people in general, people in relationships, cheat on their partners. It’s just me saying, ‘It’s not my fault. It was the alcohol.’ I think it’s just something that I know that a lot of men in Lagos are going to relate to because the dating scene in Lagos, at the moment, is a big mess. Everyone has gone crazy. I think COVID kind of really messed everyone up. So, it’s the perfect song for the perfect Lagos or Nigerian young couple. Like, I’d say, the realistic way to look at things. I’m singing this song purely out of the mindset of an honest young man who’s really true to himself.

So the ashawo Fireboy is talking about in the song is men and Fireboy is saying that men are ashawos because of the alcohol that they consume so women should not vex. Hmm. What do you think about that? Do you agree? Because personally I don't know if the "realistic point of view" is that most men cheat purely because of alcohol. There are many men out there who cheat but don't even drink so will we also blame it on the shayo for those ones? I don't know.
