What Is Freedom Worth?
An Open Letter To The People Of Ukraine

To my friends and fellow man fighting for their liberty in Ukraine:
From deep trenches to the slow trudge of justice in the pristine halls unsullied with the blood of the battlefield. Since the beginning of man we have exercised the length, breadth and width of the extent we are willing to traverse to gain and regain our freedom.
But how can you fight for something that was yours since your creation?
Freedom is not an abstract concept or a political resolution to be passed.
Freedom is the Ukrainian National Anthem sung on top an enemy tank as the flag creates ripples of majesty in the wind.
Freedom is a folktale ringing out in the streets and pumping through the veins of the people as the melody echoes in the cold air and pierces the despair like the Red Sea.
Freedom is the cry of I will not move though you outnumber me but I will dig my hands into the land from which I was born and to which I will return with my ancestors until the red in my knuckles matches the blood in the soil.
Freedom does not yield. Freedom does not break. Freedom is a focused and relentless assault on the enemies of our soul.
It is an uncontrollable and savage lion that has been caged for too long and can no longer be contained between the walls we built for it.
Freedom is the triumph of the will of a people as the joy electrifies their spines sending their arms to the sky in praise of the victory that resurrected what despots and dictators tried in vain to bury.
Freedom deferred is freedom unpreffered by any one born of this earth because our souls we never made to be imprisoned but commissioned to live lives in the pursuit of love without man made partitions.
So when you ask the dubious question of what is freedom worth don’t expect people to swallow something devoid of soul food nutrition.
When I look out at the harvest of centuries of our own wisdom. I dont see the feast you think that would earn.
Sometimes something so precious as liberty can be deprived for so long we think that is has to be earned.
But in fact you should not have to earn the right to exist but your desire to grasp what your spirit cries out for should be awknowledged everywhere at everyturn.
Freedom is worth everything because without it we have nothing not even ourselves.
So when I look at the invasion of Ukraine with an open letter I simply want to remind them, the world sees you.
The world is intently watching the rematch of David Vs Goliath because we needed a reminder that now is always the time to summon the courage to face down looming giants.
They expected surrender and were met with heart.
They came under a false flag of operation and were met with the bravery of an entire nation.
They thought they could bully their way into freedoms halls and with every shot fired are reminded what that will actually cost.
So who is going to pay it when that bill comes due? The farmer, the cooks, the computer technicians, the actors, the singers, the taxi drivers, the mothers, the fathers, the ones the enemy so naively think they can rule. These are the faces that are reminding the world that freedom always endures.
So dig your feet deep into the mud that will trap them well. The soil of generations holds your freedom from the roots and of every victory your children will tell.
