What Is Falling In Love Like?
An honest reply.

Someone once asked me what falling in love was like and here was my reply:
Like a scintillating eruption of what if and could bes that launch my heart as fireworks, painting the sky like a vivid and starry dream.
We stay locking eyes like we’re savage wolves kept at bay and circle each other as if love at first sight was our only prey, sitting helplessly under the enchantment of the moons deep blue yet subtle greys.
The dewey night frames this moment as if placed in a museum of majestic and timeless beauty caught in just the right light that I could stare at it for hours until I forget what time is night.
Here you find the bit of space that we occupy in protest of living unfilled lives that anticipated its own Genesis. You see our hearts crossed paths like cross country runners competing in the same veins hence this, pumping. And beating, that takes off so I struggle to catch my breathing.
I fix my gaze on the perfect brushstrokes God made its as if I’m awestruck over a Da Vinci. But my eyes struggle to send the message to my brain stop looking at the canvas and place your stare at the masterpiece on the ceilings.
I’m so stuck in place you know I’m going stay frozen on my face and I can’t let it go! It’s not that easy! L.O.L We’ve made poetry so pretentious it slips our mind that falling in love is still a raw and playful feeling.
That strips our immune system because it’s so infectious it will make you feel naked. So your guard is left exposed. As they scale the walls to get in the right position. They spot you humming a tune in your kitchen, so taking their shot was easy. As the arrow hits the spot we often hide and out comes a sweet salty mix that’s so sharp we put it on sliced bread because we only needed one more ingredient to make our insides greasy. Then we over indulge because we forgot that love at first sight is often cheesy.
But it’s nachos if you don’t chuckle at that.
You know my first instinct was to make you laugh. Until we’re old and lame so even if you didn’t get the joke I’m halfway there right now, today.
I just can’t stop staring at someone so pretty they make you forget their name so take mine I can share if you will own it.
You see falling in love is as simple as atoms and time circling until It breaks us down to our basic elements in a matter of moments.
Reminds us that finding the one is really about creating the right chemistry with seemingly the wrong components.
Because no one can make you whole when you’re already born complete but when you find someone who sees your flaws and complements where you’re weak. You create a bit of that substance that forms the nature of what you seek.
So instead of putting the pressure on love being the one that you need let’s make falling in love about finding the one who will sit with you even when life has brought you to your knees.
Who will stand with you when you’re beaten back by time and fights then throw you a parade when your hair shows the first signs of white.
