The line between partner and carer
I don’t get to spend as much time with Evan as either of us would like, but in the moments we get I feel the line blurring between partner and caretaker. That’s not a complaint. I love this man with my whole heart and I’d gladly spend every second of every day looking after him if it meant that we got to be together. He is, very much, my whole world. Honestly, I’m still a bit baffled that it’s me he chose to spend his life with. But as current circumstances dictate, our relationship is changing.

Self-sabotaging Relationship Habits We All Need To Quit
When our relationship implodes, we only have one person to blame. Well, two really. Your (ex)partner and you. Deep down, we know it's our own fault. Yet, we rarely want to admit this, especially when we have the entire world telling us our relationship is a failure, anyway. That's just adding salt to the ailing wound.

Why Are You Still Watching That Crap?
‘Why are you still watching that shit?’ If you watch Love Island, you’ll be familiar with this refrain from people who don’t watch it, and imagine themselves to be more intelligent for their abstinence. If you’re someone who just doesn’t like it, fair enough. Love Island is absolutely not to everybody’s taste. But what’s really annoying is people who criticise it just to try and look clever. There’s more to it than you realise.

The Joy of Yelling at Objects
I got up earlier than usual the other morning. As I stumbled aross the bedroom floor on my way to coffee, I saw the scale just sitting there. Oh okay, what the hell, I thought. I stepped on it, still bleary-eyed, but as soon as I looked down I became wide awake with rage.

We Each Have A Story To Tell
I have been governed by one principle for as long as I can remember: and that is to always be truthful. Even at the risk of losing something, I still remain true to this in my life. My father once said of me that I see things in black and white and that I express my thoughts, feelings, and ideas without a hidden agenda - often expecting the same of others.

Inconsequential
My wife loved plants. Love, even as powerful of a word as it is, cannot accurately describe how intensely she felt about them. The leaves, the petals, the roots … were all intertwined within her. She could never walk past without running her fingers across them, without whispering a word of affection. Sometimes I felt as if she loved them more than me, more than herself.

Are You Relying On Friends To Help Your Passion?
I know I am. It’s almost impossible not to when you’re first starting an endeavor. I’m not sure how reliable my friends are when it comes to my art, though. I don’t want to sound like I’m ungrateful or that they don’t support me, because I feel the love, but I know that they don’t always have time. I don’t always have the money to support my friends that are trying to get a business started.

The Ice Cream Man Cometh
My childhood memories are tinged in shades of black and white. Although various relatives and friends used their Kodak and Polaroid cameras to capture in vivid color many of the moments from the late 1970s and early 1980s, when my father got behind the lens they were recorded in black and white or sepia tones.

Verbal Bullying & Disabilities
While going through the self-check-out at my local Walmart, I was a victim of a Verbal Bully. I was scanning my items at the self-check-out; a male in his seventies decided to point the finger at me. He stood at the next check out and loudly laughed, "He has Faggot Eyes!" I looked and did not ever remember seeing this man before.
