travel
The ultimate test of a compatible relationship is whether you can stand to travel together.
Mr.X FROM LONDON
I have been flying as a cabin crew with Air India for a long long time... I may say for the last 31 years and sure that's a long time to be in this profession and to have experienced the various passengers from various countries and with innumerable behavioral patterns. Passengers traveling through the globe come with varied cultures, varied cognitive orientation, varied educational background, and with a varying degree of the EGO....

RV Livin
For 3 straight days last weekend, I lived out of a car. To be fair, it wasn’t just a normal car, it was a recreational vehicle or RV for short. It was fun and is something that everyone needs to experience, but I will say that I was very excited to get back home.

DEAL OR NO DEAL
Deal or No Deal is my all time favorite game show. I would guess that most people have heard about it or watched it on television. Megan Markle, who is now the wife of Prince Harry, was even one of the women who held a briefcase! It first started airing on NBC in 2005 before ending original programming in 2009. It did return for a brief time with a holiday special on NBC in 2018 and then on CNBC from 2018 to 2019. Just in case you have never watched the show, Howie Mandel was the host and it consisted of 26 briefcases being held by 26 beautiful models. Each of those briefcases contained a different amount of money ranging from a penny the whole way up to $1,000,000! The contestant had to choose one of those briefcases, which was then brought on stage while the other 25 briefcases along with the models remained on what I would describe as bleachers like you would sit on while attending a football or basketball game. Then the contestant would chose a specified number of briefcases to open one at a time. There was a "Banker" that sat above the stage who was never seen, only heard. He would always make fun of or tease the contestant and then he would offer the contestant a deal to buy the briefcase that they chose. He based the offer on the number of large amounts of money remaining in the briefcases that were not opened at that point in the game. If a contestant made it to the end of the game with only the briefcase they chose and the one still not opened then they would have to decide whether to keep their original briefcase or take the money in the briefcase still unopened. Tarmac Blues
Tarmac Blues So after being scheduled and cancelled due to the ‘Covid’ twice, I finally am heading down to Orange County to see my children and grandchildren, I think. My buddy Tim Ure deposited me at the Spokane Airport by 8:00 AM for my flight to Seattle that boarded at 9:20, no worries. The weather however had others ideas, evil, dark ideas, and I had the opportunity to get off this flying twin engine coffin more than once. We were flying a puddle jumper to Seattle, honestly I don’t know if it would jump a small puddle.

The End in Sight
End in Sight So the last night in the OC I spent at my youngest daughter Kelly’s house, another night, another bed, all four kids and both grandkids were there for dinner, it was a hoot. I’ve made my peace with moving from my home of six decades and albeit difficult, I will visit again soon. My eldest Katey booked me first class on the way home, front of the plane, a place I’ve passed through numerous times but never been invited to stay. I’m feeling a bit snooty about the entire ordeal, I’ll probably scoff a bit at those in the coach sections, peasants.

Thrifty Treasures
Thrifty Treasures (worth so much more) by the ADHD Accountant – Krid On Vancouver Island, in the Province of British Columbia, in the nation of Canada on the continent of North America; Earth, Sol system, there is a place my family calls “Goats on the Roof.” In reality it is called Coombs Old Country Market and it is a mix of this and that and some other things. There’s ice cream and lavender honey amongst artisanal knick-knacks and bric-a-brac. There are sculptures and palm readings, and almost everything is new. But my adventure started here, with grass rooves and goats munching merrily atop them, a scant few kilometers from my parents’ home and in the company of two kids and my partner. We were cramped in a tiny car and heading to the West coast; places called Ucluelet and Tofino.

Maps Hold A World of Memories
No one uses maps anymore. Sure, they use GPS on their phone or ask Alexa but, I’m talking about an old school paper map. One you picked up at a rundown gas station in the middle of nowhere. When you were completely lost and had no other option. Or one you found crumpled at the back of the glove compartment while cleaning out your car at the car wash.

Yes, I Know - But Will It Kill You?
Australia is a land of rare and immense beauty – rugged most of the time, and unique all of it. It is also a land of unexpected treasures. At times one can look out from a moving train window or hop out of a car at a petrol station (and they are called petrol stations as opposed to gas stations or service stations) or take a walk along a beach or a hiking trail and see nothing in nature that looks the least little bit familiar to that to which we have become accustomed.

The walk back
Holly could almost see the streets when she closed her eyes. Four years on and the small routes leading home were still there, waiting silently in the darkness of her memory. Shades of brown and white, dirty pavements, street vendors, leading to that market where she would challenge herself every time. That market full of life, full of energy, the place that everyone warned her against, the place where she met him. The smell of petrol reminded her of home. Even the sky looked different, it was always full of surprises. She still remembers the first sunset in Bogota. And the 50th. It was always the same dark golden streaks on a pale blue, yet it was always expressing different things.
