travel
The ultimate test of a compatible relationship is whether you can stand to travel together.
Swan Song
“Betty?...Betty?” The words of the man’s gently, questioning voice echoed softly, not only, in the old woman’s ears but, easily throughout her mind. The moment felt distinctly familiar to her, but it wasn't here it was somewhere else and had happened…somewhere else? Try as she might she couldn't put her finger on it. Where was it she was thinking of again…? Was it a few weeks... or a few years ago? She couldn’t ‘quite’ remember. How frustrating to find the specific chronology temporarily eluding her, skirting along the tip of her tongue, in addition to around the corridors of her memory, much like Theseus, using his ball of yarn, slowly negotiating his way around the Minotaur's labyrinth. All she had to do, to remember, she reminded herself was to untangle the wool. This was in complete contrast as to how she actually felt though, which was, beyond a shadow of a doubt, as fresh and as clear to her now, as it was, whenever that was, that she’d felt these things before.

Beach Tour
Beach Tour Becky and Lloyd were getting ready to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary. Lloyd and his father owned a small hardware store in New Martinsville, WV. Lloyd's father was in the Coast Guard just out of high school and stationed in the Gulf of Mexico for two years and would always tell stories about how beautiful Costa Rica was. His father had a heart attack and passed away two years ago, so as a surprise for their wedding anniversary, Becky was planning a trip to Costa Rica. She was an emergency room nurse, and this was a trip they both needed. She had told Lloyd she was going to making it an adventure he would never forget.

On the Horizon
Today was the day. Mom was coming home. Or so she said. Sometimes it’s a day or so late. I hate it when she leaves for her trips. They are always too long and she never tells me about them. She’s always gone. I almost grew up completely without her. Yeah, she stayed home from work till she knew I would be ok without her. Which was when I was seven. Though I still have my other mother, it still feels like she doesn’t want me.

"THEY" WANTED ME TO MET MOTHER TERESA....
It was way back in the early nineties, I think the year was 1995, or maybe a little earlier than I was on a flight to Rome. During the nineties, Rome was the most favored destination for the crew. The reason was many. First, the flight pattern duration for the crew was for ten days. second, the crew would get approximately four clear days in Rome. Two clear days before the shuttle to geneva and two days after the shuttle. This flight meant an earning of 600 dollars for the crew including layover allowances and flight allowances. Such flight was only operated by the seniors and we juniors, then, had the options of going to Thiruvananthapuram or a Dubai QTA, { Quick Turn Around }.

Merlot
It’s 8:15 on a Friday evening as I settle into my couch staring down the bottle of Merlot sitting on the counter. This is going to be the 6th Friday, and possibly counting, spending the night that’s supposed to be filled with hot and heavy thrill, by myself. Depressing much? I know.

Going Home For The Weekend
I have been going to college in NYC for the past few months and for the first time in my life have been more than a mile from my family. Instead of choosing to go to an easy college that was closer to home, I chose to go to the hardest college I got into that just so happened to be over 900 miles away.
