Long Distance Love
Six months. I’ve been in a relationship for six months. What’s surprising to people is when I tell them I’m in a long distance relationship. My boyfriend lives in Scotland and I live in the United States. We haven’t seen each other ever in real life except for once, and ever since then, we haven’t seen each other except for FaceTime. And we FaceTime each other every day. There's never a day where we are never snapchatting, FaceTiming, or texting each other till the day we see each other again. And I want to see him again. He’s the literal love of my life and I only met him once and I just knew that he was gonna affect my life and impact it.

It’s not surprising that I’m falling in love with him all over again. Do you ever get over your first love? The first time around, we were both so young—just out of high school and naive to the wide world around us. I loved him, but he didn’t feel the same. We were friends for a long time, but then we weren’t. We lost touch but he was never far from my thoughts. I KNOW JACK! I am familiar with Jack because I WAS Jack Raydor (from the TV crime show Major Crimes)…in high school. I never drank or smoked. I still don't. But I took a relationship for granted. She found another guy. I tried to win her back, but it was to no avail. We never saw each other again. Coincidently, there was another lady who entered my life. It was like God was saying, "Maurice, here is someone that you should meet and marry." I stupidly ignored that message. She DID have an effect on me.

Love Never Dies
When I scheduled my senior year of high school, I had a graduating boyfriend, a perfect room all to myself, and a plan for my future. That summer before my senior year was definitely a blast, and it definitely happened too fast. My first week into school, my sister was in my room and we were getting ready for school. I heard a crash of thunder, which I thought was coming from outside. Minutes later my brother runs upstairs, screaming how water was coming into his room. We run downstairs and sure enough, our house was flooding after that. It was a strain on my family for a long time. I once again had to share a room with my sister, and my studies were off to a bad start from missed classes. I was also working and trying to maintain my extra curriculars. Three weeks later, my relationship failed, and he decided to go his separate way. I was devastated.
