Whether written centuries ago or just last year, literary couples show that love is timeless.
Wretched Trade
1663, Spring Amelia sat at her desk staring at the blank paper before her, a mug of ale left forgotten by her side. The room was darkening with the retreating sun, but the lone Skuling lamp kept the darkness at bay. A large tome rested before her, covered in dust after years of being left on a shelf. She once thought that she’d never open it again, that her last recording would be the end. But there she sat, quill in hand, in the same spot as before, looking down at the worn cover. This book has seen the world, seen the follies of men, and had more scars then even she did. How many times has she rewritten these creased pages? How many pages have been torn and burned? Some stories are lost now, maybe for the better. It amazed her how much knowledge rested on these pages. Knowledge that would never be seen by others, solely because she wrote it.

Secrets Not To Be Kept
“I just can’t get clean! It won’t come off me! Ugh, oh my God, Oh my God!” Terrence scrubbed and scrubbed but he could never make himself feel clean. He stayed in that shower until the water ran cold and his skin wrinkled like a prune, still he scrubbed. His exterior was clean, raw, but Terrence could never remove the awful stain on his soul. The vomit had all but dissipated down the drain. It took an hour but now every chunk had disappeared. He rinsed his mouth with the shower water, swished it around then spit it out.

Trout Streams, Motion, and Memory
The desert of Eastern Washington is a place of dryness and death. Without water nothing can live here. The thin little stream that cuts through the harsh rock and sand provides nourishment for the willow trees and the grassy meadow. It is the single life-giving artery in this arid place.

A Change of Dreams
The air was different. Painfully clean, but not sterile. So unlike the dry stagnant air of downtown Los Angles, always tinged with dusty smog and semi-metallic brown acrid pollution. He coughed up beautiful healthy L.A into the rejuvenating elixir of Canada.

A Writer Writes
Imagine knowing that you will pass away in just one week. You will then assume the body of another person. This pattern happens again and again, but you don’t really know who you are. You don’t know why this is happening to you. This is the basis for a fictional series I have been writing entitled, “7 Days.”
