For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
Grocery Store Ripple Effect
I think it would be an understatement to say that grocery shopping has become a little bit more stressful than what it used to be just a year ago. Arrows on the ground telling you what direction to move in, people hurrying past you as if you are infectious, and the subtle unease and worry that has become unfortunately normal. As a result of this general change of experience that we now receive at the grocery store, I believe to be an essential place to put in the effort to spread a little good will, and compassion. This could be stepping to the side so someone has plenty of space to walk past, it could be flashing a little eye-smile, or simply saying hello.

Mask Away
Lets face it. Ever since covid began and masks became required there fore an important essential part of our every day must have with us wherever we go or we can not get in. The need for making them a fashion statement has as well. From neon colored, glittery masks, to the cutest pictures and designs trending and becoming more popular for a majority of people. All the while over half of the masks produced, unfortunately, have already become public waste somewhere and from a half of that are in nature somewhere polluting the ground and earth.

Inspire Kindness
Sometimes we forget how easy it truly is to spread good vibes daily. It literally doesn’t take much to uplift someone through simple gestures. All from sparking smile, giving a honest compliment, holding the door for someone , and maybe even treating someone to coffee or tea . These are only 4 examples out of many.

Little black book
The little black book The summer was always a good thing to Ranus, it reminded him of the city back home before he decided to living in a jungle would be cheaper... and besides he doesn’t even know where his family is. He was adopted by this pretty old couple since birth and they’ve only made it to 11years of being his parents. He was now alone , living on his own while trying to understand the meaning of nature. He studied the trees , the gorrilas, and the wood peckers that picked at the tree. HIs favorite bird was the bluejay. While studying birds and animals he noticed that bluejays were determined and such sweet creatures. He made that his favorite way to end the day. Year and years went by as his journals filled up more and more. He always reached in his sack to look at his parents knowing they would be so proud of him for making it this far. For every animal reminded him of how strong humans were actually built to be.

Me First
We can all say that the year 2020 took a toll on many things. One of them for me is my health. I started my own business in February! Oh boy was I excited! I became a licensed massage therapist in October of 2019, and I knew for sure that I did not want to work for someone else. I live in a small town, so if you wanted a massage, you would have to drive at least 30 minutes to get to the nearest spa. I decided to advertise on my local online Buy/sell/trade site to see if anyone had a place I could rent. Almost immediately I got an offer at a salon on our town square! I met with the owners and signed a contract that day. I opened on February 4th 2020. I had clients right away that I wasn't quite prepared for. My body wasn't trained to do so much, but I knew over time it would get better. My business was booming! I had no problem paying rent and for the supplies I needed. Then, the shutdowns happened. I was now unemployed. Not only was I not making money anymore, but I was still expected to pay my room rent. I practically begged the owners to cut me a break, and they did. They let me pay half of what I normally pay. Thankfully, my now husband payed it for me. I was really scared during this time. I wasn't sure if or when I would be able to get back to work, and once I was, would I even get my clients back.

A little cup of kindness
I’ve worked in research administration at the University of Queensland for the past 20 years, and previously I completed my undergraduate degree there, so I’ve actually spent half my life at this academic institution. One of the things I really love about working at the university is the people I’ve met, from many cultures and countries around the world. Being a world class university it attracts the best and brightest students and researchers and I’ve been privileged to get to know many of them over the years. However some of the nicest people I’ve met have been those who provide the support services to the university in various capacities.

Unheralded Heroes
Once, a “friend” if you could call her that made a post on facebook full of mini clips showing all the acts of kindness she was doing.. one act for every year. Allison was pretty, popular, and successful. She projected herself as a good Mormon woman. So naturally, her post exploded with likes and loves. The whole congregation as well as her many other friends couldn’t say enough about her.

Random Acts of Kindness for Smiley
I've lived in Boulder County, CO with my wife for almost five years now. It has been quite the adventure, but that's not what this story is about... Not. At. All. This story is about Smiley (I don't know his name, so I call him Smiley cause he's always smiling) and the random acts of kindness I've shared with him over the past couple of years that I have been acquainted with him.

The Strangest of Faces in the Strangest of Places
The young boy studied high white ridges overlooking rust orange valleys alll whipped into incandescent fury by the harsh rushing Wyoming wind and a caring touch here and there. The silver slivers slicing the tiny dome mirrored those of the infinite dome of a moonless sky overhead. A crimson ember pushed its way through the charred end of the poker-stick. Everything else was dark- dark as only the pure wilderness can be- and frigid, but in this spot there was light- and Life.

Worms, Words and a Whole lot of Tissues
“Flight attendants please take your seats and prepare for take off.” I lay my head back and feel my body being pressed into the seat beneath me. It felt oddly comforting. The pressure seemed to relieve my tight muscles and my pounding head - Sort of embracing me in a tight, even squeeze.
