humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
Treadmill to Nowhere
2015 sparked a lot for my husband and myself. We moved from North Brisbane out to near Ipswich which meant saying goodbye to family, friends and our fitness regimen which helped me lose 25 kilograms from March 2013 to June 2015. Wanting to continue our training where there wasn’t a lot of option for gyms in the area, and with the daily commute for both of us, we attempted to set up a gym in our shed of our rental.

United Colors
As a world traveler who has lived abroad in Europe and Africa, I'm also a part of the 1%'ers. No, not the upper echelon of wealth, yet I am a natural red head with blue eyes. I learned recently, (and I’m 55 years old), that only 1% of the world’s population of over 7 billion people are like me!

Lost Boy
I was kidnapped for 62 hours, which I now know is about 2.5 days. My racecar watch would “vroom” on the hour every hour. The engine revved 62 times during my confinement, counting the noise kept my young mind sane. I was in the first grade and just learned how to count to 100 a skill I took much pride in.

My Experience As A Feeling Human
For the majority of my life, I have this deep desire to know everything. What’s going on? Who will be there? What are we? Where is this thing going? For me, knowing has always provided some form of comfort. It is an internal desire to have the answers. An attempt to prepare for the inevitability of failure and letdowns. It is the bracing of the wall, a bolstering of my defenses. If I know what is happening then I know what to expect, and how to behave. What this does is kills all-natural tendencies to give it your all until the situation allows you to. A showing of the cards, if you will. It’s hard to bluff when the other player can see your hand. The problem is, people don’t show their cards. They also do a hell of a job bluffing.

Red Fruit
I stood there, naked, before squatting and plucking a fresh tomato from an overly abundant tomato plant that hadn't been tended to in a very long time. I bit into it - it was so juicy, its water ran over my lips and down my chin and into my beard where it never escaped.
