humanity
For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
Karma
"They smile in your face when all the while they want to take your place, Backstabbers." They say you are not on your way until you have haters. The cowards of the universe. Sometimes I have to laugh when a person decides to be deceitful. When trying to play me, you play yourself. I used to feel sorry for people who never reach their full potential but hate on the fact that you are reaching yours. But I have also come to terms with the fact that there are a lot of people faking their lives, and going with the misery flow, so they no longer get any compassion from me. They hate themselves. So, do not ever take it personally and wish them well.

In Memory Of John Yates
When I first started middle school at Robidoux Middle School we had this principle, but I don't even remember . However, our vice principal a Mr. John Yates, he was very memorable, he was amazing vice principal my seventh grade year then the next year when I was in eighth grade he was a great principal. He was a even better principal then he was a vice principal because as a vice principal he could only do so much. He could only make up so many of the rules and guidelines and everything that went into his school, but as a principal who was in charge of everything that he could possibly be in charge of and he took his responsibilities as principal above and beyond. That man really cared about his kids he really cared about every single student in that school. There was not one person he did not, there was not one person he did not try to help out of a sticky situation, there is not one person there that he thought was a bad kid. He knew that some of the kids there were troubled, but that is exactly how he saw them. He saw them as troubled young youths who just needed guidance, who just needed a strong stern hand, who needed a positive role model, who needed a great principal to run the school.

Emptiness
When we fill things, it is because we believe them to be empty. Yet in reality, they are empty only after we decide to fill them. When something needs to be filled it is because it is empty. Yet what defines this emptiness? Is nothingness itself lacking, for lacking substance? Or is nothingness full of emptiness? It's hard to be sure. Yet what I know, is that we as human beings often make ourselves emptier in the service of our fulfillment. We are born complete, lacking nothing. Yet the more time we spend in our fully realized bodies, the more we seem to believe that we are missing something. We focus intently on what is lacking from our hearts, and who is lacking from our beds. We focus on what is lacking from our memories, from our pockets, and from our relationships. We focus as well, on what is lacking from our bodies. We imagine somehow, that if we had these things, or if these people were greater presences in our lives, then things would be different. And perhaps they would be. But they are not, and they will not be. Our belief in the very concept of lacking is what leads us astray. Lacking may exist on the minute scale, yet never at the scale of the human, or the divine. Nothing is missing from the universe. There is only what is, and what is not. What should, would, or is supposed to exist, simply does not exist. Except when it should, would, or is supposed to. We are not truly missing anything. Yet our belief that we are, causes us to miss everything that we are not missing.

Born to be Different
Born to be Different I was born lost and enjoy the exploration of life, and honestly don’t like being found. I like every day to be different, to learn from scores of different people, their thoughts, hopes and dreams, those I tend to borrow and keep them tucked away in the dusty recesses in my brain. They have seen and lived acutely opposite of me, they know where they’re going, and know the roads to get there, sans a map.

Setting Course For A [New] Horizon
This is less a work of art, than a clarification of intention. I'm finally leaving my job and, unfortunately, the friends I suffered through it with. The good times I stayed there for are gone, but it's never been completely right for me, and I cannot deny that.

Air Freshener
I had to go to school today in my scout uniform. I see other boys there in theirs, but I never feel like I'm a part of them – in fact, I make fun of them in silence. I mean, why wear something to school, a place where you try to express maturity, dressed in an outfit that everyone associates with childhood?

How Buying a Hoarder House at an Auction made my dreams come true
Don't call me crazy yet, but I bought the worst house in my neighborhood. This was a real “dirty dog.” Not only was the house falling apart but the place looked like a complete junk yard. You won't believe the whole story!

Fallen Star
Cold, hard floor. Bright light grating on my eyelids. Throbbing head. My limbs felt heavy. Dingy white plaster walls, swaying and foggy around the edges. Jagged slivers of glass, scattered across yellowing tile held together by clumps of dingy gray grout.
