For 32 years, he had been saving his money in that account. He checked it about every other month and found that two months ago, he had accumulated $1, 042, 000.
He was planning to purchase some land and build his own home as he invests some of that money. Into what though?
He had spent much of his time working on blueprints for his new home. He was a Minecraft fan and enjoyed building secret rooms and hidden hallways. He found 14 acres of land for sale in Tennessee. That's where he was going to spend the rest of his life.
He had patiently been building a variety of different brands that were quite successful over the last 11 years. Before that, he would make others lots more money in helping them with their own marketing. Very humbly, he sacrificed much of his income into his piggy bank.
Now this morning, he had nothing in that account. He was in shock. Panicked? Not one bit. Dumbfounded, more likely. He had no family. No friends that knew of that account. He kept to himself, "So what gives?" he asked himself.
He closed his laptop, clasped his hands together across his belly and took a deep breath in. He took a heavy exhale and opened his eyes seconds before his alarm gracefully made a sound.
'It was all a dream' he closed his eyes calmly as he began to recite Biggie Smalls' Juicy in his head. He took a deep breath and rose to start his day.
In the shower, he began to analyze his dream and try to find the lesson in it. Why have nothing saved after my diligence? he thought. Am I not grateful enough? Surely you cannot be too grateful so perhaps, more ways to display it, is necessary. Knowing he could be wrong about that analysis, he decided to dedicate his day for others anyway.
Today was a good day (no Cube), as he was scrubbing his head, lathering more of that sweet smelling shampoo all over his body. He was almost 40 minutes into that shower as he decided to let the rest of Ready to Die play. Using his second shower head as a microphone, he knew every word to that album and needless to say, was more inspired to make a difference in someone else's life as Biggie did for him.
There is simply so much to be thankful for. I hope I can help someone else believe that, regardless of their circumstances. He decided to walk to the shelter he volunteered most of his time at, it was only 14 blocks.
He couldn't help but think of what he would do if that dream, was not a dream. Would he just keep working anyway? He was trying so hard to remember what he felt, if anything, after he saw no funds in that account. He didn't even think to check it today, nor would he. He knew his funds were safe. And if he didn't have the money, would he really have nothing? He laughed outloud. Nah nah, I'm just playing. But I'm saying.
I'm Just Playing, but I'm saying.
Arriving at the shelter, he saw a few familiar faces. "How you doing, Harry? Good to see you Esther. I see you, Chris!"
He prepped to hand out meals and converse with a new face or two.
"My name is Elvin. How are you?"
"Hello, Elvin, I'm well. You didn't have nothing better to do this Saturday, huh."
"I decided this would make my day, believe it or not. What's your name?"
"Not. My name is Inam. Thanks for being here."
"Inam, you're welcome. Thanks for speaking with me today. You mind if I join you?"
He reached over for his bag and took out a sandwich and an apple and sat across from Inam. They conversed about the times they had no funds and the feelings that came from those times then compared them to the times they forgot about those wealthier than them. They shared a few laughs before Elvin prepared sign up sheets for the overnight accommodations.
"See you around, Inam. Thanks again." Inam waved.
Elvin commenced his walk back home and thought of a new currency involving a band or a strip of some kind. Time, still, would hold the most value but how would one be able to accumulate more wealth onto the band? Maybe everything that feels good. A full belly. Laughter. A smile.
There would be so much abundance if that was the way.
