friendship
C.S Lewis got it right: friendship is born when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one!"
The Red Brick Road
The rest of the day went by quickly. I ended up just hiding out in the computer lab for lunch, because I didn’t want to run into Justin in the cafeteria. I also didn’t want to sit with Eliza and Jen, because I knew Jen was still crying over that dude she went out with, and I knew that Eliza would just get on my nerves the entire time. Her constant coddling, and mother like nonsense when it came to Jen. Everything else afterwards was a blur.

Karli Knows Things - Part 2
Karli Knows Things – Part 2 ©March 2021 Robert W. F. Taylor “What’s going on, Brandy?” Karli was walking her dog when she suddenly tugged gently on the dog’s lead and told him to stay. She looked around. Brandy was a big, happy, golden retriever and everyone in the neighborhood loved him. Her brother Billy also took turns taking the dog for his daily walks around the block, or to the dog park, and on the weekend through the woods behind their house.

A Design Hero
This is a story of a long term friendship, the result of a completely random interaction of humans. I love America. I travel there on holidays from Australia each year. America has a bright future, and I love how full of diversity it is. Every trip to America is different to the last one even though sometimes I do the same things. Las Vegas is one place I enjoy. I have met so many excellent people there over the years, many who have become lifelong friends. During one of my visits I was sitting up late in a casino coffee shop, using the free internet with my young son. Right near us was one other person, and he was also using the free internet like us. On this occasion, the young man approached my son and I and asked if we would mind his computer while he went to the restroom. “ Of course”, I said, “take your time, we will be here a while”.

Karli Knows Things - Part 3
Karli Knows Things – Part 3 ©March 2021 Robert W. F. Taylor It was the night of the concert. The Arena was totally mobbed with Apple Gangers fans screaming and yelling even though the group had not yet put in an appearance. As usual the concert started with another group. This was to warm up the audience and get them hyped to see the stars of the show when the Gangers finally took the stage. It was totally unnecessary because the crowd was already in high spirits anticipating a great show.

I'm Counting On It
Rebecca sat on the top porch step of the cabin, gazing out at the light illuminating the peak of the Tetons. Her mood in no way matched the serenity of the setting. She checked the time on her phone for what felt like the seventeenth time and called out impatiently,

Birthday Girl
Lynette sat in the back of the classroom wishing that it was anyone else’s birthday except Larissa’s, but of course wishes don’t come true and it WAS Larissa’s. Larissa was the most popular girl in her grade and she always made everyone know it too. The rumor that was going around her school at the moment was who and who wasn’t invited to her party which every year was the biggest in the town.

Can You Just Believe Already?
Alone in her closet, staring at the blank laptop screen, Francesca notices the time. 11:46pm. March 1, 2021. Twenty-three hours and thirteen minutes until her story deadline. The story that is currently 2,000 words short of the 2,000 word requirement.

All Our Lucky Stars
The bells above the front door jingled, prompting Walter to stand from his stool and push his glasses further up the bridge of his nose. Rather than someone stained with paint and promise, a young girl wearing a dress entered the store. The array of colors set before her made her appear as one happening upon wonderland. Every step forward attested to the cultivation of her curiosity.

Doesn't Know Their Audience
This is for all those poor souls that might not even realize that it is a problem, to not know their audience. First off, let me say, I can be really dreadful at this. I have been working on when to dial parts of my personality down while also remaining true to myself. Nothing is worse than losing yourself or pretending to be someone you are not. Talking to people about things they have no idea or interest in tough, is pretty darn awful too.
