The Controlling Friend
Needy friends can turn into user friends. User friends can turn into one of the most evil type of friend, controlling. Once a controlling friend constantly needed a play by play once my son was born. Day and night she would ask me for photos, how was he doing, or how was I settling in. It seemed caring and innocent at first, but then the texts would come at all hours. 3am, 7am, 10pm…

Are you my Baby?
Another checkup, more waiting. She was used to these waiting rooms. The strong antiseptic smell from the maintenance worker mopping the floor was beginning to make her feel nauseas. She replayed in her mind the journey of how to get to the fresh air. Down the hall, left turn, down the hall, right turn, elevator. She glanced at her watch; appointment was supposed to start twenty minutes ago.

Thanks for noticing
“You need to be okay. You will be okay.” My friends kept telling me this. Assuming if they repeated this that it would be destined to come true. Sadly, the more they affirmed I would be, fine, the deeper I sunk into my depression. The loneliness consuming me. No one wanting to understand or listen to my sorrow.

“You will evolve past certain people. Let yourself.” ― Mandy Hale She has (or had) an enormous house, filled with the most exquisite furniture. She thrives thinking she is the best. Always on her A game. She is, Competition Friend.

Doesn't Know Their Audience
This is for all those poor souls that might not even realize that it is a problem, to not know their audience. First off, let me say, I can be really dreadful at this. I have been working on when to dial parts of my personality down while also remaining true to myself. Nothing is worse than losing yourself or pretending to be someone you are not. Talking to people about things they have no idea or interest in tough, is pretty darn awful too.

I get it, I'm a Gemini
Star signs always baffled me, how can someone have certain traits just by being born on a certain date? During my high school years I would read my horoscope in the back on my magazines and wonder if it held any meaning for me. One day I realized I was trying a little too hard to make the vision a reality, and never read my horoscope again. In fact until this challenge I had not given my sign much thought since those high school days over twenty years ago.

Can't Focus
Things get busy, and it seems like you have less and less time to sit and chat with your girlfriends. Things like work, relationships, you know, parenting, all get in the way. How dare they! When life gets hectic nothing is better than a quality conversation with a good friend.
