friendship
C.S Lewis got it right: friendship is born when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one!"
Growth from a Small Town. Top Story - October 2021.
The year is 2021, and the month is October. My best friend from high school's mother has passed away, and I've just heard the news through her sister's social media announcement. I haven't heard from my former best friend in years, but somehow her sister and I are still connected on social media. My former best friend and I didn't have a falling out. She just dropped off the map after a while for unknown reasons. The last time I saw my friend in-person was on my wedding day as a guest I happily thanked and hugged for attending. I had no idea at the time that this would be our last physical interaction. The last social media post I know of from her was back in 2018, the same year her social media account was active. Yet, I know from her sibling's posts that she is alive.

Tom Bradbury: No Words Left Unspoken Part 2
When news of Tom's passing reached the Vocal Facebook groups, it reverberated for days. For some of us, it's not even begun to dim. Almost in unison, Creators flocked to their blank pages in search of healing, resolution and support. Many of you collectively sought refuge, answers and a place to place your words. I've done my very best to capture everyone's voice that had something to contribute. If you wrote something and I missed it, please write me through The Vocal Creators Chronicle's website or Facebook page.

Bullseye!
1 When I stood outside on my porch and waited for Brody to show up, I counted the cars passing by on the highway. One. A good thirty seconds would pass. Two. Three. Another ten. Four. It was very entertaining, especially during the quarantine days. I remembered how strange it was to see no cars pass by when we were all forced into lockdown because of the Coronavirus. As everyone said, it was Groundhog Day over and over again with those days. Gas prices dropped to the lowest I’d ever seen them and while it was great that gas was that low, at the same time, there wasn’t anything to do in the world besides sit in the house and watch TV or stare at the ceiling in boredom.

This is the official memorial document for Tom's family & friends. It will be featured in this week's VCC issue as my entry for my column "Chat With Les". Part 2: "The Voices That Remain" will be released shortly as a substitute for the "Society Pages" column.

Lost In A Forest
Living with Asperger's Syndrome (Autism Spectrum Disorder) has particular rewards and difficulties. The rewards are noticeable. We tend to be good students, reliable employees and model citizens once we understand what the rules of institutions are, and receive support in learning how to live by them. If we are given chances to participate in these institutions fairly and without prejudice, we can help to contribute to them, and possibly change them in positive ways. We thrive in situations where we know exactly what is expected of us and how to meet these expectations in the workplace.

When An Angel Is Called Home. Top Story - October 2021.
Here I am, yet again, sitting in front of my computer, staring at a blank screen, and wondering where do I start? What do I say, that hasn't already been said, about such an incredible friend and writer? How do you pay tribute and homage to a man that has left such an indelible mark on our writing community? How do you honour a man who gave the best of himself to everyone?

One Person, I’m Glad I Met
I have never felt this way, my love for you is pure and I am glad to have you. As you see me with your eyes and heart, you know how important you are to me. I'm so glad to have you. The only thing I can give you is love from the heart and soul.

The Silver Spoon
Isabel Rios was a dazzling, eight-year-old girl from the dirt-poor side of Bakersfield, California. She hardly ever smiled, but had these big, dark, brown eyes that sparkled when she looked at you. There was something magnetic about Isabel Rios that drew people toward her.
