friendship
C.S Lewis got it right: friendship is born when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one!"
Sitting in DNA Soup
I am sitting in “DNA soup”- actually, a Jacuzzi at the Melia Hotel in Nassau, Bahamas. It might as well be a soup though, from the amount of people sitting in it. I’d wager, that if you were to take a ladle from that hot tub and send it to a DNA testing facility, you’d have genetics from every corner of the planet.

Immemorial
I lost a friend yesterday. Her and I had been friends for 26 of my 29 years, and of her 33 years. She was a beautiful person inside and out that could always get a smile out of me if things weren't going quite the way I wanted in life. I originally wanted to sit and write as elegantly as I could, to try and grab the abstract with the tangible to create something that sounds beautiful and can perhaps be taken multiple ways.

Small Acts of Kindness
Can life be summarized into hours, minutes, and seconds, or is there something more? Every day we are faced with the task of understanding the meaning of our existence. When we do so, we have a choice, walk forward, or walk away. . . For many people, it is more like running away. . . However, you can only run away from the person you are for so long; at the end of your frenzied sprint, you will find yourself exhausted and feeling a hollowness inside. It is better to face what we are, so we can become something more.

The Condition NOT to Trust
Am I the only one who feels like we are being conditioned not to trust each other? As the social divide between our actual physical connection and our mental connection is constantly being pulled by the various vices of social media, our trust in each other is rapidly fading at the same time. So when I speak of relationship building, think about when you as an individual actually gave someone a chance to prove themselves to you. Now I am not talking about totally trusting someone with your life or your bank account. Even though we get on planes every day and travel without a second thought. Remember the movie "Flight" starring Denzel Washington? I can related to many financial situations, but we all remember Enron and the overwhelming amount of greed that consumed many families. Yes, I know that we all live be the words of Ronald Regan, "Trust, but verify". I understand the concept of safeguarding your personal interest, but why are we so quick to place walls on relationships with intimate potential, and carelessly circulate and give common trust to some of the things we take for granted?

Walls
Once upon a time you lived inside my head, now just a memory I feel for you instead. Hallow as night you build your guard, only to give hints at who you truly are. So many walls that you care to admit, fear and shame is what doesn’t let you give in. You value yourself to the point of arrogance, give no ish unless to educate or care for someone indefinite.

Isn't It Bromantic?
Summer is the perfect time to kick back and relax with a good book. For me, summer reading has a different feel to it than winter reading. During the winter, I find myself getting cozy with a thrilling adventure or shocking mystery, but during the summer I want to sit by the pool with a nice steamy romance or daring drama. Beach reads, a popular subgenre of books designed to capture the ease of the summer spirit, are often a section of the bookstore that I overlook, but there was something about this book that caught my eye.

"ALONE"
Before We Get Started, Here Are Some Facts Concerning Loneliness And Depression Although loneliness by itself is not a mental health issue, the two are closely related. Your likelihood of experiencing loneliness may rise if you have a mental health issue. Everybody experiences loneliness occasionally. But, since loneliness is a subjective emotion, no two people will experience the same loneliness. The feeling we experience when our demand for fulfilling social contact and connections is unmet is a frequent description of loneliness. However, being lonely is not always the same as being alone.

I’d Rather Be Accepting Than Afraid
You’ve probably noticed that the only types of people I constantly badmouth are racists and bigots. I speak often and at length about the ignorance of so many Americans. It’s a frustrating topic to focus on. I wish it wasn’t this way still, in 2022.

How To Handle When Your Friend Asks THAT Soul-Destroying Question
Here's the question no friend wants to get asked. "Do you like my partner?" Like, kill me now. I don't want to answer that. Please don't make me answer that. Why are you asking me? Make this whole thing stop.
