Le Secret
I remember the shower running, it was late, I was exhausted from the move and I was trying to peel myself off the mattress that we had just thrown on the bedroom floor of our new house. “Babe, come get in here with me, you’ll sleep better after a hot shower!” Silently complaining I got up and tripped over a stack of books on the way to the bathroom, I didn’t pay it any attention I just proceeded to shower and get this day over with.

The book that saved my life
"What’s this?" Sharon asked as she bent down to grab a small black notebook. “I wonder if someone lost their “little black book”, I answered back. I giggled and jibed “maybe it will come in handy”. Sharon was 36 and attractive in a down to earth kind of way, her reddish brown hair was offset by her perfect white complexion and green eyes. And she had the confidence resulting from one who didn’t have any troubles in the dating world. To be honest, she preferred being single and wasn’t really interested in anyone in particular. “Ha”, Sharon laughed as she opened the book, “it’s empty”. “What?, that’s weird” I said as I peered over her shoulder. “Here”, she offered the book to me, “I know you love your notebooks. “Awe, thanks”. This will come in handy when I fill up the other ones” I laughed. I did love notebooks and had a good collection at home.

Frank
Beneath honey skies and between hanging ferns, Frank moved his bus through the streets of New Orleans. It was summer, the sun beating its fist down upon his windshield and turning the pavement into a haze, but he loved this time of year. His brow was damp and the air chokingly thick, and as he looked ahead all he saw was a vision of swimming yellows and oranges, people milling to and fro, smiling at one another as they always did.

A Shark is Just a Fish
The air inside the Majesty Hall Casino and Hotel had an unnatural flavor. It was distinct even after 12 draining, consecutive hours of exposure, as was the case with one eccentric stranger. Lou had never even been to a casino prior to that week, as his journey into the world of high stakes poker had been experienced entirely online and mostly during the more desolate hours at work. However still, he was there and waited alone while the tournament was on a television break in a crowded dining room. In addition to the wait, Lou dreaded unwanted attention brought on by an interview with the national sports affiliate who’d been covering the tournament at that point. It was a tournament Lou was positioned to win.

One Strange Day
Clarissa made a sound like a bag of gravel being mixed in a blender as she entered the coffee shop. “Dear God…” she muttered as she stood too close to the door for her own comfort. She had snoozed her alarm approximately one thousand times and still had wet hair from her run around the shower. She shivered from the cold and looked around at all the glowing faces of people that had risen with the sun. They looked like they had their lives together, with their new model laptops and fancy tablets.

Stranger things have happened
It was a typical mundane day, yours truly woke up to get to work nothing out of the ordinary, same routine, same steps, except today something was different, I wasn't sure what?, but deep down I knew something great would happen, or so I thought.
