Chicago to anywhere.
She was going a million miles an hour, I was just sitting still admiring the way her hair flowed so profoundly with every flawlessly graceful move she made. Her ferocious eyes shot me through the heart and in that instant my world changed forever. I was hooked, not in a Dustin Hoffman sort of way, but in an inexplicable sort of way that electrified the cobwebs deep within my decrepit heart. From the very tippy-top of my cap through the electrified soles of my shoes, I knew my existence would never be the same.

Belmont Mansion
"Hurry up, babe! They're about to start the tour." Kiley said sweetly but urgently to Dominic as he rummaged through the trunk of their car. It was filled with odds and ends. If you named a random object, it probably could be found in the back of that car. Dominic liked to be overly prepared, and that truck was their emergency safety kit. Dominic was always just as prepared in the classroom with his 8th graders.

A Millennial Start
Our college guide was a fourth-generation WVU mountaineer whose pontificated family history about the campus, famous former grads, and even a local folklore tale about campus tunnels and hidden treasures had me chuckle with absurdity. To amuse myself while on this boring portion of this minority recruitment tour, I silently mimicked the guide's pesky behavior when I then locked eyes with a young lady who must’ve been watching me because she was holding her laugh under her hand. Following the shared experience and colloquial head nod; I knew she was someone I should meet once the group disbanded. We soon introduced ourselves and swiftly exchanged information in hopes to get to know one another as actual freshman students next semester. During that three-hour ride home, I was thrilled to be attending this school in the fall and I looked forward to seeing Joyce from Philly again.

Snake Eyes
“Snake eyes!” the croupier called out in a redundant reminder. A roll of two one’s on a pair of these cruel six-sided dice is one in 36. That’s a mere 2.77%, yet here I was rolling snake eyes at the Craps table as if it were the only numbers printed on the dice.

A Puzzle in Porcelain
The house is dying. Smells of cold, and fever, and death. Wait. Perhaps… I sniff, Is it me? I shiver, clasp my hands together, run my right thumb over the soft, wrinkled skin of my left hand. My eyes, my throat, my chest, everything feels heavy, slow, dazed, as though I’ve walked from an oven to an icebox, though I’ve only taken a step.

The Billionaires Little Black Book
It was another charming spring day in London. The kind where the air is clean and crisp however a slightly cool breeze pierced through. For Misty, this day was the same as any other. She had been down on her luck recently and life had not been going to plan. Having recently been made redundant she was unable to pay her rent and had bills coming out her ears. “Oh, look the sun is shining, what another glorious day!” she thought to herself sarcastically.

Ignition
Dump. Donate. Dump. Donate… "Donate? Would anyone want that?” Caroline thought out loud, holding an old mobile telephone to the dusty light that filtered dimly out from the broken lampshade above her. The grimy buttons on the keyboard fell out as she turned it. No. Dump it is.
