All about dating. First dates, three years into a relationship, Tinder, and more.
#MyWorstDate
This is when I was much younger, still a teen. (14- 15) I used to hang out at the skating rink, you know where they had some arcade games, some crappy cardboard pizza, bad kids smoking in the corner. Well, I used to hang out with my friends here EVERY weekend, Friday and Saturday nights. One of my friends brought a friend... I don't know if the guy was a friend or a creepy family member, that wouldn't stop hitting on me. He was not a very nice looking guy. Hairy in all the wrong places. Very tall, rather..... large, in many ways. He didn't smell all that great either. But I was a nice kid, I tried to get along with everyone, what did I know? I was young, didn't know much in the ways of dating and boys and such, so I went along with it. He asked me if I wanted to go to a basketball game, with his church group. (I was never really a religious type or church going but what the hey.) At the time I was a little sporty, I played for my township basketball team so I was like, "Sure okay." BIG mistake. The game was after one of my practices, so I got home and took a shower, washed my face, used some of those Clearasil pad things. Gotta keep those pimples away ya know. Anyway, my mom dropped me off at the location of the church where everyone was waiting for the bus to the game.

Best Date Ever
“What is the best date that you have ever been on?” It’s funny how she asks this. We were seventeen years old, eight o’clock at night, and we were on the phone, talking about going somewhere, anywhere that night. My mind was full of blanks—indecisive with my words. “I want go eat at Johnny’s, maybe Chili’s. What do you want to do?” She deferred to me, but I wanted her to be happy. I wasn’t the one to coax. I was nervous with this matter of where should we go and if she would be truly happy with the location. This was going to be our first date and I teetered with the thoughts of success and failure. She let out deep sighs that seemed to be frustration on her part. Failure seemed more imminent to me and success seemed to be improbable. I sat up on my bed, while my heart growled every millisecond. A slew of the growls led to heat that compressed my body, I was sweating. I was a mime looking at the mirror on my left, my words wouldn’t come out. “I really like her,” I thought, but that wasn’t enough to remove the thought of failure out of my pessimistic mind. “We can go anywhere Bernensky, anywhere,” she said softly. It was thirty minutes before nine and I broke free from my tenseness. I didn’t want to go far, I just wanted to talk to her face-to-face. I just wanted to see her face because I believed that there was something there that connected between the both of us. She was different, and as I put on my tight, grey jacket, I wished more girls like her existed.

#MyWorstDate ER Edition
A couple of years ago I decided to give online dating a shot and had met a seemingly nice guy for coffee one day. We had a great first date, grabbed coffee, and walked down by the lake. We even had a competition to see how many cute puppies approached us at the park. Fast forward one week, we made plans for a second date. We decided to meet up at the movies to catch a flick. While I was driving there, he kept texting me that he wasn’t feeling well. I would have texted him to suggest we reschedule but obviously couldn’t while driving.

My First Long Distance Relationship
I met this guy on the language learning app, HelloTalk where you put in your nationality and native language and the language you want to learn and it will allow you to connect to thousands of people who fluently speak your desired language and want to learn your native language.

Out With the Old in With the New!
To the romantics, who over think every detail trying to make that first date perfect, to the old school kids, still waiting for that knight in shining armor, to the chivalrous people, waiting for someone to take a chance on them, times have changed in the dating world. It is so easy to be set up for failure with the new world of online dating. It's so hard to find someone genuine whilst too easy to be someone that you're not. Online dating has made cat-fishing all too common. So to those who are still holding out for the old school kind of date this is our tribute. Our "So long," if you will.

#MyWorstDate...NYE
#MyWorstDate wasn't really what I would call a date... It was NYE 2016 and my friends threw their annual house party. I was wearing my favourite scarlet red mini dress I had bought in Montreal and I was in peak party mode. People were filtering in and out of the house throughout the night and I, being the social butterfly that I am, was wandering around and briefly chatting with whoever paid any mind to me.

#MyWorstDate
I rubbed my sore eyes, flinching at the light and trying to tell which way was up. The night before I'd been at a house party, a kind of reunion with some school friends who, while we shared the same city, they had gone to other universities to me. So there I'd been, surrounded by hormonal students whom were determined to make me feel welcome and too drunk to care how much alcohol they gave away to me. It was great. I laughed, I danced, I flirted, I drank, I fell into a taxi and somehow stumbled to bed at some ungodly hour of the morning.

Are We a Couple?
I am going to be totally honest when I say that I have never been in a committed relationship before. Twenty years of age and I've been on my fair share of dates but they never went as far as the first, maybe second date if I was lucky. I am completely oblivious when it comes to dating. I have all these questions, like what do you do with them?

My Not-So-Future Husband
This is the horrific recap of #MyWorstDate in all its terrifying glory. *** High school is filled with dreadful memories and embarrassing hiccups in judgment. When it comes to having a high school crush, all judgment is thrown out the window. Sure, he might have a bad rap and every grown-up within a 20-mile range hates him, but he is THE ONE. Right? After months of trying to get into his clique of friends and spending hours trying to look perfect for a chance encounter in the hallways between classes he finally did it. He asked me out on an actual date.

Lingerie on the First Date
We met at UCLA, our dream school. We were freshman starting a new job, at the on-campus candy shop. Both of us were from rural areas north of Los Angeles and we became fast friends! We were both finding our footing and we did it together. We shared our history from our small towns, we shared our fears of being at such a huge school, and we shared a decent, long lasting friendship.
