My Friends Are Probably Having the Best Time Right Now
My friends are probably having the best time right now. I peered out the window as the reflection of her porcelain pale skin obstructed my vision of the field outside the bunk. The scratchy, sheet-less mattress we had chosen as our playground for the next 30 minutes scraped into my back like sandpaper as our bodies surged back and forth. I imagined the beers being shotgunned and songs being sung, not a ten minute walk from us. I imagined the warm greeting that awaited me when I returned to those wooden halls. It was all I could do to make this go by faster. I looked back at her, tits swaying perfectly like pendulums, and let out an insincere, hopefully convincing moan of pleasure. She glanced down at me, stared deeply into my eyes, and said, “I fucking hate you.” Not convincing enough I suppose.

Killing the Dating Game
Even as a relatively conservative person I have always advocated for dating around. Not in a sleazy way, but just a casual "let's get to know each other" outing. I firmly believe that getting to know different types of people ultimately teaches you more about yourself than anything else. And what do millennials love more than self-reflection?

Distance Makes the Heart
I am currently in a modern day, long distance relationship. "K," as I will refer to my boyfriend from here on out, and I met through Instagram. That's right. He followed me, I followed him back. He liked my pics, I liked his back. Modern day insta flirting is what I like to call it. One thing led to another and now we are in an exclusive committed relationship. I'm living in California and K lives in North Carolina. He is in the military, a lifestyle I knew very little about starting off, and I am a nanny.

Tattoo Parlors and Vomit on the Second Date
Okay, so this was for sure #MyWorstDate experience ever. It happened when I was about 17 years old. This older guy from school and I had been friends for a while, but after months of flirting in class, we finally decided it was time to admit that we liked each other and do something about it. So, that was the beginning. Upon this admittance of our feelings for each other, we decided we should go on an actual date. Our first date was fun, filled with tacos, laughter, and a great performance of A Chorus Line that a mutual friend from school was starring in. The evening was a success. We thought, "Hmm, tonight was a lot of fun. We should do this again!" For our second date, however, we decided to spice things up by making it a double date with two of our mutual friends who had been dating for basically forever. So, we settled to attend this date, and then began the night of my woes...

My Worst Date
High school, 2007. Let me start with a little context. I was queen of the nerds throughout my four years of public charter high school. Which meant that, while I enjoyed the relationships I did have, most of my dates weren't exactly chiseled out of marble, and when you're a pubescent teenager coming to terms with sexuality, there are the occasional fantasies of "the hot boy/girlfriend."

I Went on a Date with a Man That Had an English Accent.
#MyWorstDate I should’ve known it was destined for disaster, but he worked for a top-notch music producer, so I agreed to go on a date with him. I guess I can’t really say I regret it, because otherwise I wouldn’t have this story to tell.

First Is the Worst
Though I am unsure which to feel worse about, #MyWorstDate was also my first date. The only silver lining is that I was able to get both out of the way in one mortifying evening. Many of the finer details are fuzzy, blurred by years of attempts at repression. However, the main points are still very clear.
