But, He Loves Me, Right?
You hear stories about domestic abuse and how the women stay for so long and the question is always asked: why did you stay? If you’ve never been in an abusive relationship, this question makes sense. Why would anyone stay with someone who hurts them, who makes them feel worthless? Why continue to put yourself through that torture when you could just leave? But abuse is never that simple and women stay for all kinds of reasons.

Strong Women Are Not That Strong. Top Story - August 2017.
Almost a decade ago, in my first year as a Psychology undergraduate student, a colleague of mine said to me, "You are good at picking up the big fights, but you never go for the little ones."It took me a long while to realise what he really wanted to say. Some years later, I had a little glimpse: I was always ready to save others but I would put myself at the very bottom of my "people to save today" list. I could easily move mountains for someone else, but I rarely could engage in something that would lead me to my own happiness. Actually, I would never even think about that detail.

Be a Citizen of the Earth
This is not an article about disapproval of religion; in fact, it is the opposite. I hope that one day in a world that is torn apart by cultural and religious differences, that we can all come together and save the planet that we are all so dependent on.

Positive Side of Divorce
Doesn’t it make you smile when you see videos of people who go all out with elaborate marriage proposals? Nice, isn’t it? For about 30 seconds, you think about the day of your wedding and how special you felt. No? Okay. I'll speak for me. I don't think of my divorce—right away—as I’m being happy for a couple in the early stages of their lifetime of love.

What is Love?
What is Love? Love is a Balancing Act. It is the greatest answer to life’s “What ifs.” It’s a person’s understanding or acknowledgement, of the risk of investment. Even when the return looks to be, overwhelmingly, defaulting to true pain. It’s the mutual respect of both.

What is Coercive Control?
Your new relationship is great! He really seems to understand you, he wants to be with you all the time, when he isn’t with you he’s always texting, he wants to know all about your life, friends, family and life. He’s charming and loving, he gives you flowers all the time. The relationship moves really fast and you find yourself moving in with him.

Having a relationship tends to be a wonderful thing to have whether it's romantic or platonic. Every type of relationship has ups and downs, little bumps in the road. Therefore, we need to face the fact that all relationships have issues. Some are big, some are small but, all issues big or small can eventually lead to the destruction of your relationship. Life's a Beach...
I love the beach. There is something so amazingly calm about the feel of the sand between your toes and the sound of the water. Calm isn't something that I have honestly had much of in my life. I keep saying life is like a roller coaster full of ups and downs twists and turns. As much as everyone's roller coaster is different they are all the same.
