Reiki Training

Author's Note: People who attend the Reiki III training I facilitate come for all three sessions. They have different materials. A couple different symbols than the three given to Reiki II people, and I ask that they pass an attunement during the class.

Reiki III: After I had practiced Reiki I and II for a few years, Kay told me she had just received Reiki III and knew that I had level II and wanted to know if she could give me level III. She wanted to practice on someone with what she had only just been taught.

Then right after I agreed and received the attunement, she told me that I would experience a spiritual healing and teacher status.

What that meant in reality was that I went back through my history and relived in my mind, all that had occurred that I didn't know hadn't been resolved or grieved previously. It probably took a total of three months time.

After my attunement Kay and I began sending Reiki in Reiki circles. That was so powerful that we decided to send a Reiki attunement to a woman I had met online that had many health problems and a husband with an equal amount of health problems. We had been sending them Reiki.

After the distance attunement she gave her husband Reiki and we all knew that it had been successful as she described her hands heating up for her husbands Reiki treatment.

A short time after, this woman expressed to me that she had an intuition that we would be cut off from communication and we were when my computer crashed and I lost my addresses and had to change my email address because the company I was with had changed addresses already but were accepting old addresses and stopped that practice just days before I got my new computer set up.

I learned to trust peoples intuition after that. Reiki makes intuition stronger. I haven't reconnected with her since our communication was cut off in 1998.

Since receiving Reiki III, I have given Reiki levels I, and II to many people and level III to several people. Since 1998, it has been well over 100 people I have been involved in giving Reiki or helping to teach Reiki I, II, and III.

Some information about Reiki and treatments:

Reiki is Japanese for "Universal life energy."

Clients are fully clothed for a treatment.

It is okay to talk or not to the Reiki practitioner.

Feel free to ask questions and don't be afraid to mention what happens during a treatment. The Reiki practitioner can help you with any concerns.

Reiki can be used on your pets. Certain animals will be attracted to you because of your Reiki energy.

Babies and pets need shorter Reiki treatment times.

Reiki can cause an emotional response. Let it release.

Some people will fall asleep with the treatment.

Move slowly when the treatment is finished.

Drink plenty of water afterward.

Reiki has been used as a business and people charge something equivalent to massage. For every 10 Reiki customers there is a recommendation of one scholarship.

Because most insurance doesn't cover Reiki, people will have difficulty paying for it. Some agencies have written grants for alternative medicines for their program participants.

Getting a license may be necessary at some point to use Reiki as a business. A license in massage, acupuncture, as a clergy, or therapist may be getting covered by insurance now.

The person who taught me level I and level II Reiki was a mental health therapist and he combined talk thereapy with Reiki and sometimes the entire session was Reiki.

Reiki tables cost similar to massage tables. The difference between the tables is you can sit down at each end of the Reiki table.
