PRAYER

why should you learn to pray?

By vickyPublished 10 months ago 3 min read

first, what is Prayer?

prayer is an heartfelt communication with God that builds intimacy and deep connection. For it is said in his word that we are to pray without ceasing, a constant communication with our father in heaven...

Imagine you being in a relationship with someone but yet you starve the person of attention and communication.. the relationship automatically goes down the drain and the sense of connection is no where to be found. No relationship can ever exist without communication.

Have you ever wondered why it feels like you can't feel the presence of the lord for a while? It's not that he left, you stopped talking to him then you feel like you can't find him. Once you stop fellowshipping with God, you will feel a void in your life. He's still there waiting for you to have a conversation with him.

His love is not humanly, His love is greater than words can express or imagine and his love covers all, so why not go back to your secret place and seek him. Go back to your "First Love" and trust me, you'll definitely find him.

Silence all the voices holding you back, telling you it's too late to go back and seek him, it's never too late to, but please seek him fast even when you don't feel like praying... pray!!! because there are several forces holding you back from praying...

The Bible says seek God while He is near cause if you don't, a day will come when you call on him out of the blue and He will seem so far away. It is said in his word that we fight not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers of darkness.

Why do we need to Pray?

1. It builds our relationship with God.

2. prayer changes circumstances

3. It makes us resist temptation

4. Prayer provides answers

5. It brings peace

6. It gives hope

7. prayer keeps us thankful

8. Prayer produce result.

9. keeps you in line with God's will

10. Fulfills emotional needs

11. Keeps us humble before God.

But we cannot pray with our own strength so what do we need to make our prayer smooth and easy?

any guesses? alright i will tell you..

We need the Holy spirit.

You might be wondering why we need the holy spirit to pray, hold on i will break it down to you.

1. Helps us to pray in the will Of God.

so the holy spirit allows us to pray the will of our heavenly father, more like he empowers us to pray the will of the father...

It's very important to pray in the will of GOD. The Bible says no one knows what is inside of a man save the man's spirit. It is the same for God, the Holy Spirit knows the mind of the Father and with His help we are able to pray according to His thoughts for us. When Jesus was praying in the garden of gethsemane, that the cup should be taken from him.. then he ended it with.. nevertheless let your will be done... so that right there is a very good example that we ought to pray in the will of God and the holy spirit empowers us.

2. IT Strengthens us

we basically can't pray with our own strength but we can pray for hours when the holy spirit strengthens us.. you want to stop but you can't seem to stop. The flesh cannot do the work of the Spirit. To perform a spiritual task like prayer, the help and presence of the Holy Spirit is very crucial.

How do we get the holy spirit?

Before Jesus' ascension, He promised to send us an helper who will guide us every step of the way.

The Holy Spirit is a gift from God. At the moment of salvation and faith in Christ Jesus, the Holy Spirit comes upon us endueing us with power to work the works of Him who sent us. So you must have accepted Jesus Christ as your personal lord and savior before you can receive the Holy Spirit.

Finally, brothers and sisters, bear in mind that The only way to know how to PRAY is to PRAY.
