Some women lie to men for a number of reasons.

It is a common practice to cross your fingers behind your back when you lie, as seen in the photo above. You know you are lying, but the person you are talking to thinks you are telling the truth.

According to research, a lot of women lie to men for a number of reasons. Listed below are the categories of common lies women tell men.

Women Lie About Their Age

Some women lie about their age. The message in America today is: "Young is better." Therefore, some women constantly lie about their age to men if they can get away with it.

With cosmetic surgery and makeup, women can look much younger than they really are. In times past, no one seemed to care if the man was older. Today, it is just as acceptable if the woman is older, but some women still lie about their age. That's why there are a lot of cougars. That means the woman is older than her mate.

Women Lie About Their Weight

It is not uncommon for women to be ashamed of how much they weigh. Therefore, they lie about it to make people think they weigh much less than they do, even if it is just a few pounds less.

Women Lie About Their Education

Many women lie about their education. They either build it up or play it down, depending on the situation. This lie about education is told to men because women don't want education to be a stumbling block in their relationship.

If the woman is more educated than her mate, she might lie to him to avoid making him feel bad. The lie could be that she plays down her education to be on the same page with the man she is trying to impress. On the other hand, she might lie because she is not educated, and she doesn't want her mate to know.

Women Lie About Their Jobs

It is not unusual for women to lie to men about where they work or what they do for a living. They lie either because they know they have a better job than the man, and they don't want to run him off because of that.

The woman might have a meager job or one she is embarrassed to let the man know about because he might think she doesn't measure up to his standards.

Women Lie About Past Relationships

Women don't tell the truth about their past romances. They don't want comparisons and jealousy to be issues in a new relationship.

Women Lie About How Much They Can Do On Their Own

Women fib about how helpless they are. Most men feel uncomfortable with super-secure women. So women play down how capable they are, or how well they can take care of themselves. They exaggerate or fabricate their weaknesses.

Women Lie About Their Finances

Women don't tell the truth about how they spend their money. They spend much more time and money on cosmetics, beauty parlors, jewelry and perfume than they are willing to admit to men. Some men just don't understand the high prices women pay to be beautiful.

Women Lie About Enjoying Sports

Today, just as many women as men love sports. But just in case a woman doesn't like the sports her mate likes, she will lie about enjoying sports. A lot of women will swear they love baseball, football or hockey when, in fact, they don't. They lie because they think it's something men want to hear.

These are just a few of the common lies women tell men. You might not agree with some of them. And then, you might have others to add. If so, please leave a comment.
