Cliché
One-part promethazine; two-parts Vicodin; four-parts cannabis~ I'm out like a light… physically. But like the embers that burn after a freshly dead fire, I thrive within. I may have trouble typing my words, but in my mind, I dance amongst my thoughts. I am their queen, dressed in wisdom and silk; I control their destiny. I control what may be shared, I control what can never escape.

The Blurred Line Between Love and Manipulation
Let's face it, love is dangerous. We are essentially handing our heart over to someone we are more than likely still getting to know, and we are trusting them NOT to make us regret our decision. The truth is, when you're heavily involved in another person, you tend to make excuses when their actions don't live up to the expectation. You start to rationalize their actions, you tell yourself that you're overreacting or that they will change. Is it our own inability to admit that our trust was misplaced, or are we just so invested in the idea of love that we are willing to make it work even when we are unhappy? Whatever the case may be, many of us end up tolerating abusive or manipulative behavior without even realizing it.

Four Years
Technically it was October 20th, 2012 at an unholy hour in the morning. I came back to my dorm high after spending the evening at a friend's, and I was furious with you. We’d been playing cat and mouse for months now, and I was tired of being strung along. That night I was ready to cut it off. I was about to walk away, forgetting everything that might have been.

La Vie En Rose
Breakups suck. From the gruesome beheadings of Henry VIII’s wives in the 16th century to Tom Cruise and Katie Holms multimillion-dollar divorce in the 21st, the end of a relationship is traumatizing. The mausoleum of breakups is constantly filled with songs of broken hearts, stories of unrequited love, desperate declarations of "You cheated on me less than my last girlfriend. I just need you to stay with me!" At some point in our lives, we will all be victims of a horrible heartbreak. "We need to talk," is the most anxiety inducing phrase in the English language that, more often than not, becomes "I'm breaking up with you." And in this moment of tremendous emotion, we are also given a choice: disintegrate into an empty shell of sadness or shed the skin of the old relationship and rebuild.

No Hate (In the Rink)
In the year of 2017 we have seen many beautiful things; we saw an amazing eclipse that will not be witnessed for another 4 years, and we have also seen incredible acts of kindness in the midst of distress and disaster (as seen with Hurricane Harvey in Texas). Unfortunately while we have seen immensely kind acts we have seen tragedy; in this year we have seen much hate, much discrimination, and much violence. When will the hate end? Maybe it will never truly end, but maybe it will. Maybe slowly this world is turning and we can finally find hope again. Every so often I get glimmers of hope that humanity is heading in a positive direction (towards the road of love, peace and acceptance), and when I do, I will take that glimpse and I will refuse to let go of the light that it brings into my heart and soul.

Art
Walking through those white empty halls felt like levitating, but the room started to fill up and get busier as the time went by, a sense of peace followed by a rush of excitement started making its way through my body reaching my fingertips, I've never felt that way. I lifted my hand slightly all of a sudden letting that overwhelmed feeling overcome all my senses, stopping myself just in time; I wasn't allowed to touch anything.
