Finding That Special Loved One
Ladies, we all know that it's hard to find the right man for us, right? We may find ourselves a boyfriend but is the boyfriend really marriage material? Or is he just someone we can have fun with for a few months or even a few years? Or maybe we can't even find someone. Growing up through middle school and high school, and even a bit in college, I'm the one in my group of friends who always gives relationship advice (even though I'd never been in a relationship until college and that lasted a month). But most times my advice would work. So, with that said, here is some advice on finding that special someone.

Divorcing As Friends
Are you considering divorce or breakup, but deeply care about the other person? I have been in two marriages where both parties were going in such different directions that one of us decided that divorce was the only way to move forward.Breaking up is a rather painful process for both parties no matter who initiated the decision for whatever their reasons were.If you are divorcing your best or only friend, it can be particularly daunting. Do what you can to ensure that you have your own friends, and preferably keep close with mutual friends to ease your troubled mind. Some things you can do to make things easier for both of you is to find a way to express that such a situation is unpleasant for both parties. It is actually possible to lean on each other during this transition! If you are your only friends, it is okay to go get coffee at your mutual favorite place. You might be on your phones or reading different parts of the newspaper the whole time, but this being present for each other is still beneficial. In my first marriage, I was not the one to bring up divorce. But I understood where he was coming from. If we weren't romantically happy with each other, we should be available to find that happiness elsewhere.

Looking For Something
There’s a girl in every crowd looking for something she fears will never be found. Still, she looks. She looks because every romantic movie and every love song, every couple celebrating their 50th anniversary tells her that she’ll find it someday. And in her heart she kindles a bit of hope that she’s capable of finding it, when her head tells her that she’s not—that she’s damaged. In every crowd there is a girl with a ghost for a smile, still looking for something she fears she’ll never find.

September 11, 2001
16 years ago today, at 8 am started out like every other day for everyday Americans. Families were eating breakfast. Kids were running towards the classic yellow school buses to join their friends for another day of school. Husbands were straightening their ties as wives were tidying up the kitchen. Many were boarding planes, not knowing the nightmare that awaited them. Everything was so blessedly normal for 46 minutes. At 8:46 am on September 11, 2001, is when so many worlds belonging to multiple people flipped upside down. It was that very moment that the United States of America began its spiral into chaos.
