The Bad Thing
Helen I’d known Tom for ages before he asked me out. We used to work together at a pub down the road from where I lived in Bolton- 'The Blundell’. He was on the bar; I was a waitress, and whenever he thought I wasn’t watching he’d be looking at me. I could practically feel his eyes burning into my back most of the time. Everyone kept telling me how much he fancied me, always talking about me, asking if I was working whenever he came in. I mean sure, it was flattering, because he was two years older than me, and I was only sixteen and at the girls’ school studying for my AS Levels. I didn’t talk to him much at first, but I found out from some of the other girls at work that he was at the high school in town, and that he was studying music and played the piano. I like a guy who is musical. And I suppose he was good looking in a way, with floppy blonde hair that kind of fell into his eyes, which were blue, but I didn’t find this out until much later because he wore black square-framed glasses, you know, the cool kind, trendy designer style specs, and his eyes weren’t that easy to see behind them.

Eade's Story
This morning when my alarm went off at 5am. I felt a bit sorry for myself in the sense that I had to get out of bed and leave my daughter Tehya at home all snug under the warm cosy covers at my Dad's while I set off in the dark for Heathrow Airport to collect a friend.

White Friends
A relationship between black and white people have always been proof that friendship has no color. It's about personality and understanding of each other's cultures. I come from a community where the majority are African American. I only ever had one white friend in my whole life. To see how quickly I made friends with people that don’t look like me; it’s a relief. I go to a college in Providence. The black to white ratio is way different than in Philadelphia. I was aware of that when I applied to go there. With everything going on in the news I have created an irrational mindset. The mindset that I would automatically become an outcast. That I would have to deal with racial slurs and social inequality. Of course, some of you may be thinking “Miss, don’t you think you’re overreacting?”. Providence was a stranger to me, so I prayed that it would be welcoming.

The Girl, Part Two
Phil was everything to me. But he blew it. I hope he knows that, now. He didn't understand at first, but I hope he's come to realise it. He wasn't able to give me what I needed. He was neglectful as a boyfriend for the last six months we were together; he never used to be like that but he changed. When he moved back home, to Lancaster, he became distant. He didn't seem to care about me. If I called him, he often didn't answer. If I left a message he rarely got back to me. When I texted him it took him hours, sometimes days to respond.

My 2017
This was the greatest New Year's Eve I've had so far, much better than that time I was 16 and passed out in my own vomit at 10pm.... As the clocks hit 12 I was surrounded by some of the most amazing people I knew at the time, laughing and hugging in the middle of Holmfirth. January was a continued party after the crazy month of 2016 December, spent living life in pubs and at gigs with my best friends.

#RelationshipGoals
There is no better feeling then to have the intention of conquering the new year with new love, new promises, and new friendships. Whether it's starting back at the gym, swearing off sodas, getting that job promotion, or leaving the past and bad juju vibes in the dust- we all intend to keep our promise to ourselves of "new year, new me". Sometimes, to prevail in such tasks, we as humans are required to do something scary- maybe even CRAZY; which of course is to accept and overcome change. Yet, every year, it seems like many people refrain from even combing the intentions of their "newly polished" but old and worn out bucket list because it requires a little more effort then they're comfortable putting forth; making "new year, new me" the ghost of Christmas past.

When I Finally Found My King
Here's the problem with love stories: they always have happy endings, and they make a lot of girls think their significant other is going to walk in with a white stallion, wearing a knight's armor. Well, I met him, and we all know how knights are just actually not what they are cracked up to be. Let me tell you the story about how I finally got my fiancé.

How to Handle Your Long Distance Relationship
1. Don’t stress about your relationship. This is step number one because it is one of the most important. Stress is not ideal in any situation, and this one is no different. If you're overly-stressed about it, try to do stress relieving exercises—I recommend yoga.

Building Healthy Relationships (Pt 1)
Social media is overrun with memes about recognizing and avoiding toxic relationships. Many of these memes are posted by the immature or overly sensitive who are trying to get revenge or attention. However, the truth is, toxic relationships seem to be an epidemic. Simply put, some do not know how to love, communicate, and interact. Some are, indirectly, screaming for help. We all want healthy relationships.
