I Partied Like It Was 1999 All Over Again
Oops, I Did It Again! The Story of My "Great Reset"
Okay, so it wasn't really 1999 and I wasn't riding around in a little red corvette nor was I sporting a pair of ass-less chaps like "the purple one" but it was way back in the day.
Holy shit! Did I just go back in time because I literally felt like I was in another dimension!
Marty McFly ain't got shit on me! (in a Denzel font)
I was with my grandmother again and we were informed that everything was going to be "reset."
But reset to what and to where I wondered. Lawd knows, I don't want to be in the year 1910 unless I can buy a shit ton of Ford stock.
My grandmother and I were talking about what to expect when we "go back."
I told her that my grandfather would probably be his normal and sometimes grouchy self again. She told me not to make any assumptions, grandson and I said to her, "okay grandma, I won't."
Then I entered another part of the dream state and there we were; Home again!
It felt so good and I was so emotional.
I even saw my grandfather and he was his normal & grouchy self as predicted.
He was wearing some green shorts, a red shirt and had a cigarette in his hand. I motioned for him to put it out.
He said that she (my grandmother) left him no choice. SMH! Deja Vu!
I actually got up from the dream at first. Then I went back to sleep and I was back home once more.
This time, I was face down on the ground as I rose to my feet. When I got up, I looked around and it was such a beautiful sight.
Beautiful blue skies and pretty white clouds, the real ones.
Even the grass was so green and well-manicured. I just hope that my grandfather hadn't put down any of that ant poison because my face was resting on it as I stood up.
Everything was like it was once before.
All of a sudden, I just started running out of nowhere.
Man, I was running around in that backyard like a kid coming home from the last day of school while knowing tomorrow was the first day of Summer.
I was running around that backyard like Ben Johnson at the 88' Olympics in Seoul Korea. Eat your heart out, Carl Lewis. And no, I wasn't running gear; That was all me!
I even threw up the John Cena hand gesture.
"You can't see me! My time is now!"
I felt so much emotion in the dream that I started groaning and wondered if I was actually making noise in my sleep.
The thing was, is that I could control every facet of my dream.
Next, I went to the front yard and looked around the neighborhood.
I saw one of my old neighbors' vehicles. It was this van with the AC hanging out the back window. I thought that shit was cool as hell when I first saw it.
American ingenuity is a thing of pure beauty and don't let no one tell you any different.
It belonged to a man named "Isaac" who had a brother who lived just across the street from him by the name of "Anthony" which my grandparents would often get them mixed up with one another.
Obviously, those are NOT their real names.
They were real good guys though.
Speaking of my grandparents, I even saw their old Crown Vic and that's when I broke down into tears.
I was so overcome with emotion that I began to whimper.
Don't get me wrong; It wasn't tears of sadness because everything was incredible.
It just felt so good being back to that great place in my life.
To be honest, I felt like I could've stayed there if I chose to. It's just that I was getting so emotional that I didn't want to awaken any one.
It's a good thing that I woke up though because I had to piss like Seabiscuit. I wasn't trying to turn this dream into a wet one, in the bad way.
I handled my porcelain business and then tried heading back to that far, far land.
Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned.
I tried going back to sleep to see if there was a follow-up to my beautiful dream but to no avail.
My dream state flipped over to some other weird shit but it was still good while it lasted.
Hell, I'm just glad that I was to able to recall it as much as I did!
Sometimes, when you experience dreams, they run through you like a frappe latte from Starbucks.
