There is no shame or taboo: the winter holidays are very expensive. In addition to shopping for the Christmas table, you have to buy gifts for all your loved ones. And for you.

And if you haven't saved in advance, especially to create a fixed budget for specific expenses, the thought of going to the mall in search of gifts can be at least stressful. However, there are solutions!

Here's how to save for Christmas without losing the magic of the holidays!

1. Organize Secret Santa in the family

You are going to attend a festive lunch, where the whole extended family will be present. Grandchildren, cousins, grandparents, parents, aunts, and other close people. Buying a separate gift for everyone can be very expensive and tiring.

That's why, for everyone to feel good and have a great day, you can organize Secret Santa. Each guest must bring a gift that falls within a universally accepted amount, without being signed on the bag or box. The gift can be handmade, cooked, crocheted, or even bought, provided it is something personal.

At the end of the lunch, gather all around the Christmas tree and share the presents. The atmosphere will be magical, and the costs will remain minimal for everyone.

2. Host a potluck

When you are the host of the Christmas table, you want to impress all your guests with delicious food and festive drinks. If you have more than three guests, the costs of such a person can become extremely high.

To enjoy special moments spent together, but without major financial (and physical) efforts, organize a potluck event with your loved ones. Specifically, it divides the menu tasks evenly. You can cook the main course, while the other guests bring appetizers, desserts, and drinks.

Everyone will feel that they are making a contribution, and the festive meal will be complete and to everyone's liking!

3. Find new festive activities that do not involve major expenses

Of course, a festive dinner at that elegant restaurant in the city can be wonderful, but just as pleasant can be a walk in the snow in the park or a walk through the city center, to admire the lights with friends and a hot chocolate.

Similarly, that Christmas movie seen at the cinema can turn into a comfortable evening to watch movies and marathons of series at home, with snacks made by you. Not all activities have to cost a lot to get you into the Christmas spirit.

4. Give experiences

Everyone is used to receiving gloves, slippers, scarves, perfumes, make-up, and expensive decorative items. Although these things may be nice, they will never be compared to a unique experience or gift that the recipient does not expect.

For example, if you know that your girlfriend would love to have a day just for her, without children and responsibilities, give her a gift voucher to take care of the little ones all day, whatever day she chooses.

5. Establish a budget and find secondary solutions

Even if the holidays took you by surprise and you didn't manage to calculate the amounts you have, you can quickly make an indicative budget, which you intend not to exceed.

Then you can find little tricks to save: online store offers, discount codes from influencers, codes obtained after subscribing to the newsletter, online stores that accept payment in several installments without interest. Solutions always exist!

6. Don't buy wrapping paper

If you want to save some money on Christmas gifts, a simple idea is not to buy wrapping paper. You can use the regular office paper you have in your house.

I think it's not important how to gift looks like, but it's content.
