I've written several times about Ghana being a scam and everyday there are more and more stories to prove how much of a scam Ghana is. Even Ghanaians, brag and talk about how The Gambia has a Ghana Town, they don't bother to mention that this fishing town is filled with people who have never been to Ghana.
The Ghanaians in this Gambian fishing town are born and raised in The Gambia, they're stateless people. Without citizenship to The Gambia or to Ghana this town should bring outrage to everyone not something to brag about.
In a video below you can hear some of the people living in The Gambia talk about their struggles as stateless people.
Assessment uncovers hundreds of Ghana Town residents stateless

Amie Sanneh, 56, is the sister of the current Alkalo of Brufut. She was a member of the girl children present at the inauguration of the new fishing village of Ghana Town, which his father, the then Alkalo of Brufut, Pa Khalifa Sanno allocated to welcome a boat load of Ghanaians to reside. It’s been over 50 years today and these folks have not enjoyed citizenship, neither of The Gambia nor of Ghana.
A week-long assessment exercise last week enumerated these residents of the town, located on the outskirts of Brufut, West Coast Region. When we visited there on the fourth day, Thursday, 31 October 2024, tens were gathered across their community center – comprising a built cement block and corrugated roof hall, along with two canvas tents lined with chairs. It still bears the historical concrete-walled well sunk by Brikama Area Council and inaugurated by former president Jawara and vice president Badara Njie, along with Chief Jerrehba Bojang and brother Sanjally Bojang in 1962 to welcome the residents to The Gambia.
Filling out the forms and conducting interviews for questionnaires were officials of the Gambia Commission on Refugees, the Statelessness Focal Point under the Gambia Immigration Department and the UN High Commission for Refugees office in the country.
I can wager a guess that Ghana's government would want these people to pay 2000 GHS for DNA tests to prove that they are indeed Ghanaians instead of simply giving them citizenship. I find this hard to believe that for over 50-years that these people never tried to inform their government of their serious issues.
While Ghanaians have been posting about this town for over 3 years not one of them had actually been to Ghana Town. However Ghanaian influencer has been to Ghana town several times one video showing 2019 while another shows 2023, why didn't anyone speak out about their plight?
Akufo-Addo thought of this scam....I mean year of return to boast tourism to Ghana. Many videos and my own lived experience shows that most Ghanaians were not and still are not willing to accept foreigners into their country.
Their behavior, scamming, fraud and bully culture truly shows that they aren't ready to accept people who look different than they do.
I've read about and even had the pleasure of meeting Ghanaians born in several countries outside of Ghana that returned to Ghana to live, they were all able to enjoy Ghanaian citizenship despite 2 being born and raised in the United States, while others in the UK.
This makes me wonder why Ghanaians born in another African country can't have the same pleasure as those born in western countries. It shows what the young Chadian living in Ghana said to me, "Ghanaians and Ghana are hypocrites!" This sums up many things about Ghana and some Ghanaians.
