There was a country English gentleman stuck in the country and a country man stuck in the city both named Daniel trying to write a brief concise story for Vocal and earn income while freely living a life of abundance and happiness in an uncertain 21st century.

They both stood around scratching their heads imagining how they could create some kind of good story, and in some weird coincidence they both were standing on garden hose. Even though one of them was standing on a garden hose in a mansion and another was standing on a garden hose in a pig sty in the country, neither really knew that what both really was standing on was the great python of life.

But as they stood there and the time went past, that garden hose slowly started changing into a giant python of life and this python represented humanity like the the giant Taft march of time sculpture. And Daniel realized that just by standing on the python of life that that story was as worthy of story as anyone else.

As both these Daniels stood around for days on top of their garden hoses, slowly the python brought them places in their minds both good and bad and soon both Daniels were no longer either in the country or the city. They were in their imaginations. And they were riding on a giant python of life that neither knew at the time was the same python. In either, case both Daniels had noticed it was hard enough standing on the hose for 15 minutes, and in their imaginations when they would get ripped from the python and fall they simply would wake up the next day and start again. Both Daniels started sensing standing on python for all eternity was going to be hard as well.

Their giant Python wore a sign on it that said, the Python of Life, don’t mess with me, fragile. An odd sign for a snake. Well without consulting anyone somehow both they guys got on top of this python standing around making up stories about riding a giant serpent of life, all while really just standing around on a garden hose making up a little brief story for a First Vocal Writing Submission, snake riding 101. The story has to make sense, the story has to make sense. Otherwise it’s the Amazon delivery drivers never having to pee because they are mostly, kinda story, who cares for the details? Vocal does, I do, Amazon does as well, we all should, there should be equity and equity in the schools in workplaces and our imaginations as well. So these important items became boulders in the story, and even though the audience can see all the boulder's, the Daniel's of the story can't see them because he is so close to their bases, he is simply blinded and can only sense the back of the rock being filled with slippery moss in addition to the front side being large and imposing.

This story has a happy ending or at least I'll twist my imagination to fit the criteria hopefully, if good kind imagination, no worries, published or not.

So these two are on this slippery python with old cracked feet trying to hang on. And topsy turvy world wakes Daniel up. They find themselves blinking wondering in a pool of water, both there but both alone. There is a dog barking and the sun is shining. One day has gone from the next, and as much as this story doesn’t make sense neither could either Daniel make sense of how one day goes to the next, both Daniels found themselves alone even though they didn’t fully feel alone.

In each pool was a note written in perfect country handwriting.

The lined school paper had the unmistakable heavy bic ink and three hole punches to go into a binder and the ink was smeared. Only blue ink, and white paper, but a muddy mess and the note wouldn’t survive the night.

On the paper Daniel was able to read it clear as day because the penmanship was impeccable. It simply said, congratulations on getting past the first big boulder of life, you have no idea how you did it, neither does anyone else, and you couldn’t do that climb boulder again even if you wanted to, It’s impossible, stop trying to go back, and not everyone likes your stories, get over it, the python of life goes in one direction only.

At this point, Daniel felt the real garden hose underneath his feet and he entered submit for review, and he simply told the review board that they could publish the story Snake Riding 101, it was ready for publication.
